How Families Can Help Their Child Transition to Online Learning
The following are ways that families can support successful virtual learning for their children:
- Create a designated workspace - consider your child's individual needs and personality when setting up their workspace. Make sure they have easy access to all materials and supplies.
- Implement a schedule - write a weekly schedule with your children and keep it posted.
- Have designated break times - encourage movement breaks and use timers or alarms if necessary.
- Become familiar with online platforms - check out the parent portals and utilize your child's teacher to help you learn the platform.
- Remain in communication with teachers - keep open communication with teachers and encourage your children to keep communicating with their teachers by asking questions, etc.
