We are here for you!
The Bilingual/ESL Department here at Allen ISD would like to share tips, tools, and strategies to help you support your child attain English proficiency and develop high levels of academic achievement. You will find linked resources and tips that you can explore on your own and with your family.

Learn about impactful practices happening in districts, schools, and classrooms and be the spark for change in your child’s school. This in-person conference for educators and parents will take place in beautiful Frisco, Texas, and registration is open!
Title III Parent, Family, & Community Engagement Fair
The 2023 Region 10 Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Fair is happening on February 28, 2023!
Registration will open in December.
Take-Home Backpacks!
We want to make sure your child has the resources they need to be successful at school this year. As part of the Emergent Bilingual newcomer student support program, this is an exciting opportunity to extend your child’s English language development through a Take-Home Backpack. In this backpack you will find:
The Kids Learn! Full-color resource featuring reading, writing, and mathematics worksheets and an introduction section for parents with tips and strategies to strengthen the school-home connection
A curated selection of high-interest, fiction and nonfiction books from across key content areas that will keep students reading at home while strengthening content-area literacy
A Family Engagement Guide that helps facilitate deeper parent involvement and support
A writing journal to help students become stronger, more confident writers
How to use your Take-Home Backpack
We will be providing backpacks to families of Emergent Bilingual Newcomer students in grades K-6 by December 16th.
*Newcomer immigrant - child or youth not born in any state.
