Dear Parent(s),

With the restrictions being lifted I am excited about the opportunities our students will have that they haven't been afforded in 2 years. One of these opportunities includes the re-opening of our vending machine as requested through a number of our grade 8 students formal letter to the Principal. In addition, I am supporting a grade 8 student's entrepreneurism as she plans on selling cookies once a week using our Canteen.

Congratulations to our basketball teams as they completed their season in the GYAC final tournament. The Girls' B team finished 1st, Boys' B 3rd, Boys' C 4th and Girls C 8th. We are very proud of you and look forward to next season. Below is the schedule for our Badminton team try-outs.

Lastly, we are looking for someone who is willing to clear the snow off our outdoor basketball court. A number of our students are eager to start up a mini stick hockey league. If you have a quad with a blade could you please give me a call at the office.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays our students are treated to breakfast by our staff volunteers. Starting next week students will be treated to hot breakfast.

7A wrapped up the Science 7 "Structures & Forces" unit this week with the annual EGGstravaganza event - "Eggs in Space". Students created a structure that had to be 30 cm tall and go out 10 cm where the egg would sit (cantilever - ex. diving board). For the testing, each team chose a brave volunteer to lay under the structure. If you look closely you can see that one of this year's volunteers was Mr. Lorne. Luckily, the structure he was laying under held, which was EGGxcellent for him, as well as the team that built it!

Parent/ teacher interviews are running on March 9th. In-person and virtual options are available to parents. You can book an appointment through our school website. Here are some camps that you can attend to develop better ball handling and scoring moves.

These camps will help you develop effective dribble moves to blow by defenders, beat defensive pressure, reduce turnovers, score at will against tough defenders, and become the player that the coach depends on to handle the ball during crunch time!
