Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Student Achievement:
In Drama for the last two weeks students have been learning about puppetry. This week they had the chance to create ‘pencil case puppets’ and pictured below are 7CA’s creative pieces.

Our Heads of Year would like to say well done to all students for their great start back. They have seen some excellent work in class and have enjoyed seeing you all at tutor time where you have all fostered great relationships and community spirit.

PE:
Students of the week for PE are:
Mason 7SI, Alfie C 8TE, Chanel 9ST, Phillip 10SW, Carmen 11TE. Sport Science students Adelin 10SO, Darcey 11TE and Year 12 Sport and Physical Activity student Halle. Well done!
Mr Rogers has also nominated Ellie D and Josh S (9TE) for their hard work in PE.
Miss Williams would like to say well done to 7SW. They took on the role as a school games coordinator and organised their own sporting events based on different sporting scenarios.
MFL:
Mrs Sahota would like to nominate Year 8TA Spanish students Dantess A, Gretil B, Greta C, Nana D, Toby R, Lucy D and Mary M for their great participation in the class activities and showing good understanding of key vocabulary and gramma points. Well done! Also nominated are Year 7TA Spanish students Aleksandra A, Dominik A, Tyler O, Ryan B, Amy W and Mia O for their great enthusiasm, excellent effort and participation in their Spanish lessons this week. Super work!
Miss Graziano has nominated Izabela, Aimie and Neave (9CO) for fantastic understanding of tenses in Spanish and 10TA for very mature discussions about sensitive topics in RSCS.
Mrs Cook has nominated the following German students:
Year 11 students Rebekah for great preparation of her speaking endorsement, Arnas for great work in class and Lucas N for great vocab knowledge.
Maths:
Mr Lee would like to nominate his Year 9 group for their hard work with averages this week. Also nominated is Year 10 student Ryan C in year 10 for his excellent work and consistent enthusiasm with algebra this week.
Mrs Ferns would like to say well done to 7CA who have shown great progress this week on the new Statistics topic.
Music:
Miss Jenkins would like to nominate Oscar C and Izabela G from 9CO for excellent focus throughout the lesson, and fantastic use of musical terminology.
Miss Patrick has nominated Stas from 8CO who created an imaginative graphic score and thought really carefully about his dynamic flow chart – well done!
Miss Patrick would also like to nominate Gabrielle, Toby, Sean and Kinga from 7SW for excellent contributions throughout the lesson. Also in 7TE, Declan’s dynamic representation of a piece of music was carefully considered and written using the correct musical terminology – brilliant work this week!
Miss Jenkins would like to nominate Dylan H and Miller T from 7TU for really excellent and insightful musical analysis within our ‘Listening and responding’ lesson.
English:
Mrs Rice has nominated Maya and Julia, Year 8,for fantastic creative writing and 9BZ for their excellent analytical paragraphs about the play they are studying this term, The Crucible.
Mrs Rice and the English team would like to say well done to the Year 10 students who have delivered their speaking and listening speeches so far. They have clearly worked so hard on them over remote learning and their deliveries in school have been fantastic.
Humanities:
Miss Buffini would like to say well done to Year 7’s for settling back in so well to Term 4.
In History well done to Finley and Jennifer in 7TE and AnnMaria, Milly and Megan in 7CU.
Mrs Vaghadia has nominated Year 9 RSCS students Dennis (9TA), Silviu (9st), and Sarah (9st) for their hard work and engagement in the lesson. Year 9 English –students Olivia W, Danils, Riley and Louis M for working super hard and producing really good work in the lesson and finally, Year 11 Sociology students for working really hard in the lesson, focusing really well completing work to high standard.
Art:
Ella C in Year 9 has been interviewed by the BBC , after being entered for a new art competition. We entered a piece of Ella’s art work and she was selected as one of the top 50 nationally to be interviewed. We will find out if she has made it further next month. Mrs Morgan is super proud, Good luck Ella !!
Mrs Morgan has also nominated Year 10 students for excellent work, in particular, Thomas, Denisa, Klaudia, Daria and Hayden. Also Year 9 students Sol, Faizah, Jonathon W, Dylan, Willow, Millie, and Amelia B.
DT/Engineering:
Mr Harley would like to say well done to Year 11 Engineers who have been working hard with their practical synoptic assessment. Mr Harley has also nominated Daniel H in 7CA for an excellent start to term 4.
Science:
Mr Godfrey would like to say well done to 10APHY for they way they worked together in their circuits analysis lesson.
Assembly Music:
