There has been a date change for our ACT Test that was scheduled for February 28, this has been moved to March 28 and is available for free to all juniors.

April 11 and 12 we will be conducting our Kansas state assessments for grades 7, 8, 10, and 11. Freshmen will be on a field trip to Greenbush and the seniors will be participating in their Senior Experience Day!

Please make sure that your student gets good rest the night before state testing and has a good breakfast. State testing is important data that helps us to design instruction for students and evaluate our practices.

Below you will find the schedule we will be following for these two very important days!

Mark your calendars for April 25 and April 26 - we are adding these dates to the district calendar, but wanted you to have them early.

April 25 - Senior Interview Night: This will be for all seniors who currently take English 12 with Mrs. Cutshaw. If you do not take English 12, but would like to be included in Senior Interview Night, please contact Mrs. Cutshaw to be added to the event.

April 26 - Community Service Day and Class Competitions: The morning will be devoted to our annual PHS Community Service Day. Students will work with their seminar classes to complete community-based projects. In the afternoon grade levels will be competing in their class competitions - from kickball to trivia contests, our grade levels will be competing against the other grade levels to be crowned the best!

Message: Thank you so much for all you do. You are always trying to keep everyone positive. You jump in where you see help is needed and you are thoughtful and generous to our students and staff. If someone is down, you give them a box of sunshine, if someone needs shoes, you find them shoes. We are lucky to have you.

One of our goals this year is to establish a site council. Our site council would be made up of school personnel (certified and classified), parents, and students to help inform decisions that we make at school. The purpose of the school site council is to advise the school on such matters as student learning, education programs, school improvement planning, education planning, and accreditation issues. The site council also plays an advocacy role for the school regarding the same issues.

A site council is a commitment to the school in hopes of making it the best school it can be. It is a time commitment, but it is also a commitment to seek solutions to areas of weakness in our system. A great school is always seeking ways to improve and a site council helps to lead those improvements.
