EOC/STAAR Test Dates
Spring test dates for EOC/STAAR
Tuesday, April 5th: English I
Thursday, April 7th: English II
Tuesday, May 3rd: Algebra I
Wednesday, May 4th: Biology
Thursday, May 5th: US History
Please make every effort to ensure your student is in attendance on the day(s) of his/her exam(s) as achieving a passing score on EOC exams is a state graduation requirement.
*Students who are not taking exams will be required to attend school on EOC/STAAR days. See the modified schedule below.
Schedule for EOC Days - April 5th & 7th
Lubbock-Cooper High School students will participate in End of Course (EOC) exams on Tuesday, April 5 (English I) and Thursday, April 7 (English II). This testing will result in a change of daily schedules for all Lubbock-Cooper High School students, depending on grade level and whether or not students ride the bus. Please read below for grade level specific information and information for bus riders:
Freshmen (9th grade):
Tuesday, April 5 - Freshmen will take the English I EOC exam. This will be a normal school day for freshmen.
Thursday, April 7 - Freshmen will not be testing. Freshmen will report to school at 8:00 a.m. and will be dismissed at 10:00 a.m. Buses will run on this schedule.
Sophomores (10th grade):
Tuesday, April 5 - Sophomores will not be testing. Sophomores will report to school at 8:00 a.m. and will be dismissed at 10:00 a.m. Buses will run on this schedule.
Thursday, April 7 - Sophomores will take the English II EOC exam. This will be a normal school day for sophomores.
Juniors (11th grade):
Tuesday, April 5 - Juniors who DO NOT ride the bus will report to school at 10:30 a.m. and will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Juniors who DO ride the bus will report to school at 8:00 a.m. and will be dismissed at 10:00 a.m. in order to be transported by the bus.
Thursday, April 7 - Juniors who DO NOT ride the bus will report to school at 10:30 a.m. and will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Juniors who DO ride the bus will report to school at 8:00 a.m. and will be dismissed at 10:00 a.m. in order to be transported by the bus.
Seniors (12th grade):
Tuesday, April 5 - Seniors who DO NOT ride the bus will report to school at 10:30 a.m. and will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Seniors who DO ride the bus will report to school at 8:00 a.m. and will be dismissed at 10:00 a.m. in order to be transported by the bus.
Thursday, April 7 - Seniors who DO NOT ride the bus will report to school at 10:30 a.m. and will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Seniors who DO ride the bus will report to school at 8:00 a.m. and will be dismissed at 10:00 a.m. in order to be transported by the bus.
LCHS Prom - April 2
The LCHS Prom will take place April 2nd, from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Tickets for LCHS Seniors are free, all other tickets will be $50.
FBLA Students Advance to Nationals
Congratulations to our FBLA students who competed at state last week and will advance to Nationals!
CTE Spotlight - Accelerated Forensic Science
Recently, Mrs. Ring’s Accelerated Forensic Science participated in a Crime Scene Day focused on blood spatter analysis. Students entered the scene in CSI teams and had the responsibility of investigating the scene from start to finish using skills they’ve learned throughout the year. The CSI teams included a Team Lead, Lead Detective, Photographer, Sketch Artist, and Evidence Marker. The whole scene was treated with a chemical called BlueStar, and therefore all blood evidence glowed in the dark. The teams followed up the investigation by writing a crime scene report demonstrating their findings. Check out some of the photos taken by students below!
LCHS Robotics Advances
Congratulations to our LCHS Robotics Program who are advancing to the state competition.
Night at the Science Spectrum
Date: 4:30 pm April 9th- 10:00am April 10th, 2022
Sponsored by: Texas Tech Society of Women Engineers (SWE) & Texas Tech Whitacre College of Engineering
During this fun-filled event, female high school students (9th to 12th grade) will learn about the multiple facets of engineering as well as the benefits of a Texas Tech education. Participants will have the chance to explore the Science Spectrum of Lubbock and watch a movie in the OMNI theater, spend the night in the museum, and listen to live presentations. Dinner and breakfast will be served and everyone will receive a t-shirt. Best of all, this event is COMPLETELY FREE.
The Society of Women Engineers wants to encourage girls to consider college, especially the science & engineering fields. Our members will be there to answer any questions girls have about college, engineering, and life at Texas Tech.
Girls will have fun, make new friends, and explore the possibilities for their futures.
