The NYC Debate Club meets monthly for debate practices. Our instructors include some of the top debate coaches, college debaters and high school debaters in the city and country.

NYC Debate Club students have the opportunity to compete in our tournaments each month. We also encourage our advanced students to judge at tournaments for beginners.

Advanced NYC Debate Club students also have the opportunity to compete at our local middle school tournaments and championships. There are also travel opportunities available for middle school debaters and advanced elementary school debaters.

Students in Debate Club receive public speaking and debate instruction from beginning level to the advanced level.

Students in Debate Club learn all the major middle school, high school and collegiate debate formats including public forum debate, parliamentary debate and policy debate.

You will not find a more rigorous academic program than debate - reading, writing, critical thinking, current events, civics, philosophy, political science and more. All students are expected to be reading and watching the news on a daily basis.

We have several events throughout the year including public debates, community debates, law firm debates, judging and teaching opportunities, and other special events!

Debate is one of the best opportunities to learn college and career skills. Debaters have the opportunity to meet college debaters and faculty as well as career professionals in law, finance and government.

Elementary School debaters will be visiting middle school and high schools across the city. Top high school and middle school varsity debaters join our instruction staff. All our advanced elementary school debaters are invited to compete at all our middle school tournaments. Add debate to your middle school, high school, and college applications!
