Breakfast/Lunch/Snack Program Update
For the past few years we have received a nutrition grant to help provide a variety of foods to our students. Now that COVID restrictions have relaxed, we are able to run our morning breakfast program as we have in the past. Any student who would like to have breakfast in the morning can come in through their usual doors and into the Community Commons to enjoy some breakfast. We have fresh fruit, milk, toast, and oatmeal available.
Along with breakfast and with the volunteer support of School Council members, we also have snack bins in every class that students can grab a snack from if they'd like.
Thank you to Robyn O'Connell and Rose Nicholson for volunteering your time to make sure our snack bins are full of great snacks!
Field Trips
Field trips are opening back up and all of our grades have some sort of year-end field trip planned. Keep an eye out for the online consent forms and field trip fees added to your Parent Portal as grade teams finalize their plans. The forms must be completed and fees paid in order for your child to attend the field trip.
New Projector and Screen
A massive thank you to School Council for their donation and support to get a new projector and screen installed in the gym for our assemblies and other special events. The project was over $20 000 and School Council covered the cost through all of the hard work in fundraising. Thank you to all of our families who have been able to support School Council fundraisers to support this project and upcoming projects.
Badminton
Badminton season is wrapping up. We have had over 50 students in grades 4-6 participating in our after school badminton program. The Grade 6 players will have a mini tournament on May 10th after school against Crestomere.
May 18 Celebration of Learning
We are excited to let you know that May 18 we will be having a Celebration of Learning evening. With this wild and ever changing year, we looking forward to having our families back in our school in-person. Our doors will be open from 3:30-7:00 pm, students and their families are encouraged to come and tour through the school, visit their classroom area where students will have a variety of activities in which they can demonstrate different things they have learned this year. School Council will be providing a free hot dog supper. Families can stop by the Community Commons and grab a hot dog, drink, and cookie (while supplies last).
