MAKERSPACES
Coming Soon to a School Library Near You!
What's a Makerspace?
Sometimes also referred to as hackerspaces, hackspaces, and fablabs are creative, DIY spaces where people can gather to create, invent, and learn (definition from A Librarian's Guide to Makerspaces).
The library media center hopes to have a few different Makerspaces next school year. In the meantime, check out what you can create in our library now!
Yarn bombing!
Do you knit or crochet? The library is looking for a few good yarn bombers to display their creativity. See Mrs. Rouleau for more info or visit the Yarn Makerspace in the library media center.
Coloring!
According to this article, coloring promotes de-stressing, quietness, and wellness. Stressed about exams or schoolwork? Take a few moments out to color a picture at our Coloring Makerspace.
Suggest a Makerspace
Suggest a Makerspace to Mrs. Rouleau or Mrs. Hall. We are always looking for new ideas.
