Principal's Note

Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, January 12, from 8am-8pm, and will be a traditional, cafeteria-style structure. Teachers will be available in the HMS-8 Commons. Guardians are welcome to come and go at their convenience throughout the day. If you are unable to make conferences, you can call the HMS 8 Office or Email your student's teachers anytime. HMS 8 Staff Emails are attached at the bottom of the newsletter. There is No School Thursday, January 12, Friday, January 13 and Monday, January 16.

Student Safety is a top priority at HMS-8, and we firmly believe that education and prevention are key to ensuring a safe and healthy school environment. On January 11th, representatives from the Hutchinson Police Department, Rise Up Reno, and Reno County Health Department will be at HMS-8 to present important information to students concerning student health and safety. Specific topics being covered include the dangers of vaping, drugs, tobacco and alcohol use as well as the dangers of inappropriate social media use.

HMS 7 & 8 SRO: We would like to welcome the newest addition to the HMS Family. Officer Brown joined our staff this week. Please help us welcome him. For more information, please see below.

The HMS Yearbook is now on sale. They are $25. Orders can be placed online with Credit or Debit Card via E-Funds or orders can be placed by cash or check in the HMS 8 Office. The last day to order is March 25. No late orders will be accepted.
