What is Alamo Promise?
The Alamo Promise is a program that covers 100% of tuition & fees for up to three years. With the Alamo Promise Program you can earn a associate's degree, certification, courses for transfer or workforce training from one of the 5 Alamo Colleges.

Who is eligible for Alamo Promise?
- Student must graduate from a Bexar County HS (all NISD schools qualify)
- Complete first two steps before deadline (February 28th)
- Complete additional paperwork, if required by Enrollment or Financial Aid offices
- Enroll for Fall immediately following graduation
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
Does academic standing or income play a role in participation in Alamo Promise?
No, neither Grade Point Average nor Income level will effect the eligibility requirements for Alamo Promise.
How to Become a Scholar
Step 1: Apply to One of the Five Schools
- Students will need to send a transcript to the school they apply.
- If they change their mind about location, they can file a Change of Primary Institution form later. All documents will move over to the new college of choice.
- Students should activate their ACES account to complete other portions of enrollment.
Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid
- FAFSA or TASFA accepted.
- Application is required and must be sent to college applied.
- FAFSA opens by December this year. TASFA will likely follow same timeline.
- If selected for verification, student should send all required documents as soon as possible.
Step 3: Enroll at the College
- This step can happen after the priority deadline.
- TSI applies (students can send qualifying SAT or ACT scores OR take the TSI exam)
- Student must complete orientation and class selection.
- Student will need to upload and complete other requirements (i.e. bacterial meningitis, final transcript)
Alamo Promise Deadline
Steps 1 & 2 should be completed by February 28th to meet the Priority Guarantee Date. Applications/completion February 28th - May 1st will be evaluated on a space available basis.
