The Weekly Buzz 🐝
From Palmer River Elementary School

February 2, 2024
Dear Palmer River Elementary School Community,
We are so fortunate to have a caring and exceptional team of police officers that support our school each and every day. On Wednesday, we had an extra special visit with Officer Aguiar and K-9 Edo. They came to PRES for the day to teach our second graders all about K-9 dogs. Officer Aguiar read a book about K-9s to our students, he shared about special jobs that Edo does in our community, and he also showed the students the gear that they wear when they are working to protect us. Thank you to the RPD for your continuous support, and a special thanks to Officer Aguiar and Edo. We appreciate you!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kristine Kefor, Principal & Dr. Cheryl Leandro, Assistant Principal

Student Teacher Bios
We have several student teachers working at PRES this year. Please find a brief bio below for a few of our newest team members at PRES. If you are in the building and see them, be sure to say hi! We will share a few more student teacher bios next week!
Meet Ms. Eliza Mathis
Hello, I’m Eliza Mathis. I’m a student teacher in kindergarten with Mrs. Glynn’s class! I am a senior at Wheaton College in Norton studying Early Childhood Education. I’m from Cumberland, Maine where I live with my parents, little sister, two cats, and puppy. As a passionate education enthusiast, I am excited about this opportunity to work alongside the talented educators at Palmer River to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students. I eagerly anticipate getting the knowledge and skills needed to become an exceptional teacher during my time here!
Meet Ms. Faith Swicker
Hello everyone! My name is Faith Swicker and I am a student teacher from Liberty University. I am excited to be working with Mrs. Sargent this semester and learning everything I can about 4th grade to graduate in May with a Bachelor's in Elementary education. In my spare time I love to read books on my kindle (and the library!) as well as spending time with my younger sisters. I get to see my 3rd grade sister every morning here at Palmer River which is an extra perk! I am already enjoying working with the students so much and I cannot wait to learn more. Mrs. Sargent is a wonderful teacher to both her students and myself!
