Welcome to the Cardinal Pole Catholic School Good News!

This year has been full of successes such as our TES nomination for 'Secondary School of the Year' and receiving an 'Outstanding' rating in our Catholic School Inspectorate (CSI) report. We are so proud of our school community!


Thank you to all the members of staff who have gone above and beyond to ensure that our students had the support they needed throughout the year, especially during exam season. Our work at Cardinal Pole is a partnership between home and school and I also want to thank our parents/carers for the support you have given the school this year.


We wish everyone a safe and fun summer and look forward to seeing you all in the new academic year.

Visit from the Deputy Mayor of Hackney

Cardinal Pole has an 'exemplary approach with the students, diverse activities, enthusiastic engagement from the children, effective learning methods, and a positive rewards system all contributed to creating a strong sense of community within the school.' ~Deputy Mayor of Hackney, Anntoinette Bramble

Record Breaking Relay Race

Leandro, Blessed, Kelechi and Jayden set a new school record of 49.3 seconds for the 4x100 relay at the Simmonds Cup. They beat the previous time of 49.5, set back in May at the London Schools Track and Field Cup.

Jack Petchey Award Grant

Congratulations to our athletes, who set new Athletics all-time records in 2023. Special mention to Jayden, who won a Jack Petchey Award for his dedication to sports this year. He used his grant to buy new spikes for the school athletics team.

'My Hackney' Graffiti Mural

In celebration of Windrush 75 students began the 'My Hackney' mural by incorporating the HMT Empire Windrush itself, a pivotal influence in ‘Our Hackney’!

TES Awards

Year 7 Adventure Island Trip

Our Year 7 students had an amazing time at Adventure Island in Southend. A great way to round out the academic year!
Well done to the Year 7/8 athletics team at the recent Hackney Championships.

As well as medals, several of the school’s all-time athletics records were broken
  • Aiden in the Y7 Triple Jump
  • Michael in the Y8 300m
  • Dejenay in the Y8 200m, breaking the previous record held since 2001!

Leadership Day Trip

Our Sixth Form and Year 10 students had a leadership day trip to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Windrush at a local Church.

Carnival Costume Making

Our students participated in an arts and crafts workshop where they made beautiful carnival costumes to celebrate Windrush Day.

Steel Pans Workshop

Beautiful music to our ears! Our students had an amazing time learning how to play the steel pans during Windrush Week.

Summer Concert

Our Summer Concert was a roaring success with multiple acts. Our talented students did an excellent job singing, dancing and playing instruments. Thank you to everyone who performed; it was truly a wonderful night.

SOAR Awards

The SOAR awards were a fantastic celebration of our school community. Well done to our students who were awarded for all their hard work.
