Board of Education candidates on the April ballot are invited to participate in a Meet the Candidate event sponsored by the Pacific Area Chamber of Commerce. The luncheon is scheduled for March 17th at the Tri County Senior Center, 800 W. Nurses Making a Difference
High School Students Headed to State Competition
The Pacific High School DECA participated in the District 8 DECA Career Development Conference virtually this year. Students created visual and written presentations, then recorded their presentations to be judged remotely. Pacific had a great showing this year, even with a small group of members. Eight students participated and all 8 medaled in their events.
- 1st place in Hospitality and Tourism Operations Research was Matt Kristopeit and Carter Myers
- 1st place in Community Awareness was Grace Lippmann
- 1st place in Restaurant and Food Service was Ted Toney
- 1st place in Leadership Delegate was Marissa Jinks
- 2nd place in Integrated Marketing Campaign for a Service Business was Ethan Flaherty
- 2nd place in Community Giving Project was Alexis Haley
- 3rd place in Innovation Business Plan was Kyra Shaffer

Youth Civics Education and Leadership Opportunities
Pacific High School juniors have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to attend the American Legion Boys and Girls State of Missouri. The 2022 Boys and Girls State programs will occur simultaneously on Lindenwood University’s campus June 11 to 18. The programs will maintain independent schedules and curriculum but plan to share common resources. Both, Missouri Boys State and Missouri Girls State will also be able to enhance their programming by leveraging nationally known speakers and guests.

Kindness Matters at Pacific Intermediate
A Busy Month for Riverbend
Seventh grade students met with an FBI agent to learn about internet safety. Topics included cyberbullying, inappropriate pictures, and other safety issues. Parents are encouraged to talk to their children about not sharing personal information on social media or through gaming devices.
Students in Mrs. Alt's FACS class participated in a Classroom Cupcake Wars Competition. The lesson included students working as a team to plan, prepare, and present cupcakes for the competition.

Truman Elementary Teams up with High School Students
Mrs. Dewert’s high school class delivered handmade Valentine cards to Mrs. Snyder’s kindergarten class. Respectfulness and kindness was observed during the visit. The friendship created during the visit was so popular that the mentoring and partnership will continue throughout the year.
