Well Bobcat Family, SPRING BREAK is finally upon us! This is a great time to enjoy our families, friends, and great Valley weather....hopefully!!!
By all means, please take this time to unwind and decompress in fun ways that will not jeopardize your safety or the safety of those around you. With that in mind, I offer you the following Spring Break Safety Tips:
- Be Active - Do a variety of fun activities.
- Wear Wraparound Sunglasses that provide 100% UV ray protection.
- Wear sunscreen with at least SPF - 15 and reapply every two hours when in the sun.
- Know how to swim and swim with a buddy. Wear life jackets when in deep water.
- If traveling, stick with friends and family and always be sure someone knows where you're going.
- Drink lots of water.
- Keep your cell phone charged and with you.
- Have a plan for where you are going before you leave.
- Don't share your vacation details on social media until you are back at home so as not to attract "would be" robbers to your home.
RHES TMEA Middle School All Region Jazz Band Debuts First Public Performance at RHISD Board MTG
The "First Ever" RHMS Jazz Band debuted their first public performance at the school board meeting held on March 6, 2023 as part of the Superintendent's recognition of students. The middle school band students, under the direction of Ms. Diana Pena, recently distinguished themselves as a TMEA "ALL REGION" Jazz Band. Ms. Diana Pena is also a graduate of RHHS!
* The creation of our middle school jazz band supports RHISD Board Goal #3 to increase student engagement opportunities at all campuses.
RHHS P-TECH Winter Guard Team Performs Award Winning Routine at School Board Meeting
MAKING HISTORY in Rio Hondo!!!! 7 Seniors to be Awarded TSC Associate's Degree in May!!!
CONGRATULATIONS to Sara Benavides, Milla Bocanegra, Brandon Gonzales, Emma Pezeshki, Serena Quinones, Eleazar Vasquez and Karina Zuniga for being the "FIRST EVER" RHISD P-TECH Seniors on schedule to graduate with an Associate's Degree in Multi-Disciplinary Studies from Texas Southmost College. This is an accomplishment that is unprecedented in Rio Hondo ISD history. The impending graduates are seen here posed in front of the newly installed RHHS P-TECH LOGO situated in from of our iconic high school.

- RHISD passes CTE Methods of Administration Civil Rights Compliance Review with flying colors. "No Noncompliance Identified" Congratulations to our entire team that made this happen for our district: Lisa Leal, Xavier Hernandez, Becky Mesa, Veronica Puente, Saul Rodriguez, Stan Martinez, and Chris Ruiz!
- The School Board approved administration's recommendation to upgrade the RHHS P-TECH exterior door system to ensure greater safety and security for our students and staff.
- We would like to welcome our new RH Elementary School music teacher, Ms. Bridget Rae Dietlin-Anderson, and our new RHHS P-TECH Science Teacher - Mr. John Wittier to the RHISD family! Welcome aboard!
