We have two new Classroom Educational Assistants this year. Assist me in welcoming

Kelly Noble who comes to us from another school district. She has jumped right in and is doing a great job with our students.

Also, assist me in welcoming Sayda Holmes, Sayda is new to the educational assistant position. She also has jumped right in and is doing a fantastic job with supporting our students.

Mrs. Perrella has jumped right in using Heggerty to assist with students’ foundational reading skills. The students were doing a great job of building on the skills that they learned last year.

Please welcome our new reading tutor, Mrs. Lewis. She comes to us with teaching experience. She is already supporting our students that need reading support and she is also supporting in our 4th grade math class.

KGUN 9 visited our school this week to highlight our Spanish Immersion Program. London Emerson did a great job of explaining how she has learned Spanish and what she feels this program has done for her. Sra. Alexander and Sra. Hippner also shared their classroom and what they have noticed the Spanish Immersion Program does for our students and all of the benefits.

In its tenth year, Legendary Teacher Day will be on September 28, 2023. CFSD has supported this program for the past nine years. This day of tribute to teachers was established on the fourth Thursday of September in 2014 by Nicholas I. Clement, Ed. D. As a long-time school administrator, he spent his career identifying, developing, and celebrating teachers in a variety of assignments. Over time, he established a successful recruiting and development effort with the Legendary Teacher in mind. The Legendary Teacher Day program is designed to recognize that one teacher in our lives who made a significant difference.

Legendary Teachers:

• Engage students in creative learning activities

• Connect learning to the past, present, and future

• Adapt their methods to meet diverse learning styles

• Create and maintain dynamic learning environments

• Continue to improve their content knowledge base and teaching skills

Legendary Teacher honorees can include current and retired teachers. The deadline for tributes to be considered for the Legendary Teacher Day recognition will be September 28. Each Legendary Teacher will receive a weekend getaway at Hacienda del Sol, along with other prizes.

They are in need of some clothing donations especially boy's shorts/pants and shirts (size 5-6, 7-8).

If you are able to help it would be much appreciated.

We are in need of a volunteer for dismissal. You would be helping to load students in cars at one of the pickup spots. You would need to be here at 2:45 pm and you would finish around 3:15 pm.

We are happy to keep your student in the office during this time or they can stay with you at your spot.
