Greetings, Panther Families!
As a reminder, on October 16th we will be hosting our annual College Kick-off event with a modified schedule. Although this falls on a Wednesday, we will start at classes 7:40 am and release students at 1:24 pm (see flyer directly below). Please plan accordingly.
In sticking with our college-going theme, the first ever CNUSD College Fair will be held on the same day (October 16th) from 5:00-8:00 pm at Santiago High School. Come on out with your student to learn more about available post-secondary options (see flyer below).
Important Notice: Parents, please take a few minutes to complete our district's technology survey by following this link: www.BByt.es/UM6YP. The purpose of this survey is for CNUSD to determine the best way to support technology implementation at each school site, including Corona Hgih School. Students and staff are also being asked to take a similar survey. As we move to increase technolgy access for our students, your input is vital. Thank you.

Engineering
This week the Aerospace Engineering students got a chance to test out the glider they designed and built by using computer software to create a design based on aerodynamic principles. The software determined if the glider configuration would be air worthy or not. Once students had a working design, they were tasked with building the actual glider out of balsa wood. After several weeks of work, students finally had a chance to put their gliders to the flying test. They had a blast launching their gliders over and over again to achieve the straightest and longest flight. Students collected data and made adjustments to the nose weight, launch angle, and launch velocity to find the optimal configuration for flight.

Theatre Arts
Theatre has been busy this fall! On September 18th, the fourth annual CNUSD Theatre Workshop was hosted at Centennial High School, and 40 students from CHS had a chance to work with 160 students from throughout the district. The students were able to participate in workshops in stage combat, makeup, musical theatre dance, auditioning, Commedia Dell'Arte, set design, and musical theatre singing taught by industry professionals.
Ms. Horn had the great opportunity to attend professional development workshops are the Educational Theatre Association's National Conference in New York to make our amazing theatre program even more amazing!
On September 28th, the Drama Club and Thespian Officers joined the California Thespians for the Leadership and Tech Conference. After their day of workshops, they have come back energized to make things happen this year!
On October 3rd, 48 students were able to attend the national tour of Miss Saigon. For many students, it was their first time seeing a professional show. There was a talk back after the show, and students were able to ask cast members questions about how to prepare for a career in the theatre.
Of course, all of this is happening with the preparation for our fall production, Almost, Maine! Our website to reserve your tickets is live, so make sure to get your tickets for this charming romantic comedy soon! http://our.show/corona-high-school/almostmaine
