Week Two

  • This week we worked to establish our reading workshop, setup our writing notebook, and explore place value in math. It has been a great week of getting to know each other as learners and leaders.
  • You may notice the Friday folder does not have a behavior checklist. I am hoping to setup an electronic way to share this information weekly. If there is an issue that needs to be addressed, please know I will call, text, or email you directly.
  • If you have not received a phone call or text message from me this means I do not have an accurate phone number. Please contact me and let me know this information as I love to share updates and pictures.
  • The Stallion Stampede will take place on Friday, September 23, 2016. We hope you can join us for this fun school fundraiser.

Flexible Seating

So far, flexible seating is going great. The students are enjoying the furniture options and we are creating expectations as we explore the many new seating options.

District Assessments

Over the next few weeks we will be completing a handful of district assessments. This week we completed the STAR Math and a few math fact tests. The students took them seriously and put forth great effort.

My Little Helper

Please excuse any extra wrinkles you may find on your child's papers. My daughter Amelia frequently "helps" me with student grading and paperwork at home.
On Tuesday, we shared our memory boxes. The students loved seeing each others artifacts and sharing their personal memories. Check out a few pictures in the video below.

Math Games

This week we discussed how to play a math game. We practiced our behavior and math skills while playing Place It. I have sent a blank copy of the Place it game in your Friday folder - Challenge your child to a game.
