Experts agree that family involvement in education is one of the biggest predictors of student success. So where can families begin? At Hawthorne, families can begin by asking the teacher how they can support the classroom. The front office team and school administration have a list of activities and openings that are waiting for family members to support. Hawthorne’s PTA has several great ideas that will be awesome with the involvement of families. Hawthorne’s motto is “Together We Can Make a Difference” and with the support and involvement of Hawthorne families, that difference will change the lives of every member of our school community.

Please check your child's bookbag in the mornings before they come to school. We have been seeing an increase of inappropriate items brought to school lately. Toys are not allowed at school. Also, our lost and found rack is overflowing with jackets, coats, sweaters, hats and gloves. Remind your student(s) to check the rack in the cafeteria if you are missing these items.
