Weekly Parent Update
March 14-18
Greetings Ory Parents!
I would like to thank you for supporting your scholars with selecting their poems for the Oratorical contest. Of our 233 scholars in grades K-5, 94% of our scholars met the deadline with accepted poems. For those who did not turn in a poem, Mrs. Zeledon provided an additional form to be completed. I, Ms. Jones, personally met with the scholars and their teachers. The teachers were required to contact parents and send home another form. I then followed up on Friday and spoke with each parent of scholars who did not turn in their poem and reminded parents of Ory's expectations. As of Friday, submission of poems has increased from 94% to 98%.
Each day a scholar does not turn in his/her poem results in a loss of a CAM point. As per the student contract, scholars who have less than a 90% average at the end of the school year will not be able to return to Ory for the 2022-2023 school year.
The Oratorical contest has been a tradition with 100% participation throughout the years. We will continue this tradition of excellence to enhance our scholars skills through our Communication Arts Program. If you have not done so, please be sure to support your scholar with submitting their poem.
We are rebuilding our Communication Arts initiatives. You chose our school, and we intend to provide your scholars with the service you expect. Together we will become an "A" school of Excellence!
If your scholar is not feeling well, please be sure to follow the updated COVID GUIDELINES before allowing your scholar to return to school. For more information, please contact Nurse Beth at 985-651-3700. Thank you for your continued support!
Ms. Jones
