Checking In

Dear Families,

I know that this week has been a challenge on all fronts. Many of us are trying to balance work, parenting, homeschooling, and dealing with all the stress & uncertainty that comes with this situation.

Personally speaking, we've tried to create a schedule for my 5-year-old to maintain some structure that includes proper schooling, recess, nutrition, and rest. At the same time my 1-year-old is determined to wreck that schedule. It's times like these when we truly gain a deeper appreciation for daycare providers, educators, and stay-at-home parents.

With all that being said, I'd like to continue to provide support to families to the best of my ability without overwhelming you. Rather than sending out numerous emails on a day-to-day basis, I'll be sending communications such as this on a weekly basis.

At the bottom of each document I'll add buttons that will bring you back to previous issues. For example, Issue #1 at the bottom of this newsletter contains useful information that will get you off the ground with things like Google Classroom and SeeSaw.

Technology Support

If you are experiencing technology issues with school-issued devices or resources, please reach out to your child's teacher or school administrator. I also welcome you to contact me as I am always available for assistance. Whomever you contact will do their best to help you directly or they will put in a service ticket to our technology support team to get the issue resolved.

If you are experiencing issues with your home WiFi or Internet service, you are encouraged to reach out to your provider directly.

Parental Controls on Home WiFi

With everyone home for an extended period of time, some parents may be interested in placing controls or restrictions on their home network. Each network provider and router is slightly different, but in most cases parents have the ability to schedule active network times, pause the network, and even restrict specific websites. Here are a few resources that you can read for general information on the subject. It is also recommended that you contact your provider for specific information.
