BES Weekly Update

Congratulations to our Pandas of the Week. We have the BESt students in the world!

Does your child have a teacher that goes Above and Beyond the Call of Duty that you would like to nominate for the ABCS Award? Is there a staff member at BES that your child feels goes out of his/her way to be kind or do things to support our school? If so, please click here to nominate a staff member for the ABCD Award. Nominations are due by the 10th of the month.

It is very important that students are present and on time the day of testing. If they are absent or late, they will have to make up the test at another time and most likely be tested by someone other than their normal teacher. Students tend to do better when they can test with their peers and their own teacher. Testing Dates are:

May 4

May 9

May 16

May 18 (4th Grade Only)

Please make every effort to have your child present and on time on each of these dates. Thank you in advance for your help with this matter.

Tutor.com is available for families 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Students will have access to highly-qualified tutors in over 200 subject areas. We had a ball today celebrating all of the growth that our kids have achieved this year in both ELA and Math. Mr. Fowler and a few of the teachers gave them a chance to dunk them for the following growth:

Met their Annual Growth Goal - 1 throw

Met their Stretch Growth Goal (more than a year's growth) - 3 throws

Met 150% of their Stretch Growth - 5 throws

Met 200% of their Stretch Growth - Just got to push the button.

Congrats to all for your achievements and for the many of dunks that were given out today!

The BARK Program visited BES again this week. Our kids love the chance to read to these amazing dogs!

Good Afternoon,

Wow! What a great week! Your kids have been working so very hard. Teachers are giving every last ounce of time to getting the remainder of the standards taught and reviewing previously taught standards in preparation for testing. Please help us by having your students here every possible second between now and the end of testing.

We wrapped up the week by celebrating all the gains our kids have made this year. They have worked super hard and many of them have demonstrated more than a year's growth this year. We are so very proud of them! Thank you for all you have done this year to help with all that growth!
