Welcome back! - reminders
Welcome to a new school year at ADL! We are so excited to welcome our Chargers back to school for the 2023-2024 school year. In this message you will find links to important "back to school" forms to review, complete, and return.
The first 4 forms below are embedded within the PowerSchool Parent/Guardian portal. If you need technical assistance setting up your parent/guardian account in PowerSchool, please contact the EWSD helpdesk at 802-857-7777.
1. Student Information Form - Using this form you can update your student’s address, legal name, race and gender identity as well as update the list of your student's siblings. Change in address or legal name would require us to receive an attached proof from you.
2. Student Contacts Form - EWSD is using a mass notification system that can reach parents and guardians immediately in case of emergency. The mass notification system can only be effective for families if the district has updated information on its students. You will be able to receive text messages from EWSD if you agree to that.
3. Health Information Form - Your child’s health is important to us! In the event that your child would need medical attention by a school nurse, our healthcare providers would rely on Health Information form information to treat your child.
4. Permissions/Agreements Form - As a parent you would provide EWSD media release and would acknowledge understanding of EWSD policies.
5. Food Service: School breakfast and lunch are free to all students again this school year. Breakfast at ADL will be served from 8:10am-10:00am (not 10:30 as previously shared.)
Although meals are free, we need as many families as possible to fill out the, 2023-2024 Application for Free and Reduced Price School Meals. This information supports funding for school-wide programs that benefit our students.
If you do not have access to the internet and need hard copies of forms, please contact our ADL registrar, Victoria Cooper at 857-7842. Thank you in advance for taking the time to review, complete, and return any necessary forms. Please also reach out if you have any questions about any of these forms.
Message from ADL School Nurse
Dear ADL Families,
My name is Jenna and I am the school nurse at ADL. I am looking forward to another great school year! Please reach out if your child has health concerns. Additionally, below are a few reminders for the start of the year.
Health Information in PowerSchool: Remember to complete or update the annual Health Information in PowerSchool. This includes permission for over-the-counter medications.
Prescription Medications: If your child will need prescription medication(s) at school, please contact me. Medication(s) need to be in a properly labeled prescription bottle with written permission from you and your child’s healthcare provider. Controlled medications, such as those for ADD/ADHD or seizures, must be brought to the school by an adult. Please do not send medications to school without speaking to the nurse.
Food Allergies: Because our students mix throughout the school day, please contact your student’s teacher(s) before sending in food that will be shared (such as for a celebration). Shared food needs to be allergen-free or an allergen-free option needs to be available.
Please refrain from sending in items such as plain peanuts or tree nuts, trail mix, peanut butter cookies, or peanut butter cups.
Here is how to ensure that foods are allergen-free:
The food is not homemade.
The allergen is not listed on the ingredient list.
The label does not state: may contain, may contain traces of, manufactured in a facility that also processes, made on shared equipment with, or similar statements.
Students and staff will receive additional information about washing their hands, cleaning surfaces after eating, and sharing foods.
Please reach out if you have any questions. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Jenna Dalla Mura, RN

Blood Drive at Founders School
On Monday, October 9th (School is closed that day) from 9am-2pm at Founders Memorial School (in the gym) I (Kelsey Algiere) am hosting a blood drive in honor of a little girl named Ruby Lanza. Ruby was diagnosed with inoperable Stage III, Group III embryonic rhabdomyosarcoma which is a nasal cavity cancer. This type of cancer affects about 250 children a year in the US. In fact, each year, over thousands of children will have cancer. My blood drive’s mission is to help Ruby and all other children who have cancer. Donating blood can help patients like Ruby maintain healthier lives and outcomes, because blood donations lengthen and save the lives of those who have cancer. That is why I am asking you to please consider donating at my blood drive. Here is the link to sign up https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=KIDCANCER
If you have any questions or want to contact me please email me at KelseyAlg1996@gmail.com Together we can end childhood cancer.
