In order to recognize all family members that are serving or have served in the armed service for Veterans' Day, we would like you to send in a photo of the person serving with the following information: branch of armed service, years served, and relation to Steele Elementary. Photos that were submitted last year, will be used again. If possible, we would love to have one or more of you interviewed by our principal so she can put together a video for the students to see. If you are interested, please email her at kcoate@galesburg205.org.

Photos are due by November 6th.

If you have not yet scheduled a conference, please contact your child's teacher as soon as possible.

Please use this sign up to provide snacks for our teachers during parent teacher conference night Tuesday, October 24 and Thursday, October 26. Mrs. Coate will provide the main course dinner one night and PTO will provide it the other night. We are asking for volunteers to bring sides, drinks, and desserts.

Snacks can be dropped off anytime during the day, but should be dropped off by 4:00 PM at the latest. Thank you for showing our teachers your appreciation with some yummy snacks!

These students were nominated by their teachers for exemplifying our CHAMPS expectations throughout the building. They are shining bright as Steele Stars!

Outreach, Counseling, Family Engagement, Deans, and Restorative Behavior staff members were all apprised of the new policies and procedures around bullying as a part of the Institute Day on Friday, October 13th. After this, they collaborated in two groups to create slideshows for the purpose of prevention and understanding of how to report bullying and cyberbullying.
