SCAP Update
The Akron S-CAP (Student-Centered Accountability Program) annual review will take place on Monday, November 6th. This year’s review is a one-day virtual review. The school has gained some valuable feedback from students, staff, and parents during these reviews that have taken place over the past five years. A survey link will be shared with each of the three groups. Parents, please check your email for the survey link. We appreciate your feedback and hope you will take the time to complete the survey.
Elementary Classes Visit Pope's Pumpkin Patch
On Monday and Tuesday, our Preschool-5th Grade classes visited the Pumpkin Patch in Wiggins. Students enjoyed the hayslide, pumpkin pillow, cow train ride and picking out a pumpkin. Thank you Mrs. Reid for organizing this annual field trip!
RAM Party
Our Elementary Rams were able to celebrate their RAM Party this week with a "Puzzle, Pop and Pringles" theme. Students were given a section of a large poster to color and snacks to enjoy.
3rd-5th Grade Kickball
Thank you to our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade teachers for putting this together!
Exciting News to Share!!
We are going to be getting some major upgrades and additions to our playground! We will be adding new equipment to our playground and having the black-top resurfaced. One exciting addition is a large climbing structure!

HOMECOMING WEEK
FFA Attends State Range Judging
The Akron FFA chapter sent three students to State Range Judging in Lamar on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023. It was a great experience to see the different Range Sites and we even had a few tarantulas join in on the fun. Great job to these three gentlemen, Caleb Hansen, Mason Porteus, Jesse Davisson and Mrs. Dreitz!
FCCLA Attends Fall Conference
Akron FCCLA attended the Northeastern Plains Fall Conference at NJC on October 11. Forty students along with their advisor Peggy Hall attended the event. Stations were set up for students to learn about Star Events, Leadership, Healthy Snacks, Problem Solving, Stress and Anxiety Relief and Fitness. Akron was in charge of the fitness portion of the program and were honored to have Yoga Instructor, Sydney Woods, teach each group yoga. After lunch students enjoyed a trip to Dairy Queen and on to the Baseggio Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. It was a great way to start the year!
Middle School Volleyball
The LPAA middle school volleyball tournament was held in Wray on Saturday, October 7. The Akron A team beat Sedgwick County in two, lost a heart breaker to Wiggins in three, and lost to Haxtun in three.
Great season girls and coaches!!
The White, Gold and Red middle school volleyball teams played in Holyoke on Thursday. While the teams worked hard, they couldn't overcome the Dragons.
Lady Ram Volleyball
The Lady Rams had a busy week starting with a Freshman scrimmage against Lone Star. The JV and Varsity traveled to Holyoke on Thursday, both teams worked hard but didn't come away with a win. The Lady Rams will play Sedwick County for their homecoming game on Friday at 4pm.
Middle School Football
The Akron Rams hosted the Byers Bulldogs for their last football game this year. The Rams were successful and came away with a 56-6 win!
The 6th grade football team traveled to Haxtun on Monday to finish out their season winning 28-0
RAM Football
The Akron Rams took on the Dayspring Christian Academy Eagels on Saturday. The Rams came out on top with a win 34-20.
The Rams will play Sedgwick County for their Homecoming game on Friday night.
