CES Happenings
Dear CES Family,
So much going on! Make sure you read all the way down to the bottom of this newsletter. We may be a small school in a small town, but there is plenty to do. It's also peak Fall season, so it's awfully nice outside at the moment. These have been days to remember this week. As someone described it to me: "We need to bottle these up for January and February." Speaking of Fall, the picture you see associated with this article is a cabin in the woods just outside Meadow Valley near Quincy at the Cal Berkeley Forestry Camp where our students attend our Outdoor FRed camp. So pretty.
I'd like to invite you to be on campus with us: volunteer in our classrooms, attend a Monday Morning Meeting (8:10 a.m.), attend a field trip (we have several coming up)...there are many ways to get involved and we'd love to see you. It's good for our kids to see their parents at school, too.

Dictionaries for 3rd Grade!
The Elk's organization recently visited our school and generously donated dictionaries to all the 3rd graders. During their visit, they gave a presentation on how to effectively use the dictionary. They also organized a fun activity that allowed the students to explore their new dictionaries and put their newly acquired knowledge to use. To make it even more exciting, each dictionary even had a surprise - a $1 bill tucked inside! It was a wonderful and enriching experience for our students, and we are incredibly grateful to the ELKS for their generosity and support.
