Welcome to Week 3!
This week Years 4 and 6 are sitting Check-in Assessments, Stage 3 students are representing MPS at the Blues 9's Stage 3 Rugby League Gala Day and the P&C will hold a Mother's Day Stall on Wednesday so that students can buy something special for someone special if their life! Thank you to the P&C and all the volunteers who have spent many hours organising gifts ready for the Mother's Day stall. Our community is very lucky to have you all.
Teddy our therapy dog, has settled in beautifully at MPS. He has started visiting classrooms and has worked with some individual students as well. He loves being cuddled and played with and one of his favourite places to visit at the moment is the staffroom! I don't think the staff mind!
Check-in Assessments
NAPLAN - Years 3 and 5
- The National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is conducted each year for all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 in all government and non-government schools. This program, which has the support of all State and Territory Education Ministers, assesses the literacy and numeracy learning of students in all Australian schools.
- The results of these assessments provide important information to schools about what each student can do and are used to support teaching and learning programs.
- Parents receive a report indicating their child’s level of achievement. Each student’s achievement will be reported against the national reporting bands, national averages and national minimum standard.
- Students in Year 3 and Year 5 will complete NAPLAN in Week 4 (11th - 14th May).
- Students do not need their own device for NAPLAN but are encouraged to bring their own headphones.
- Additional information can be found at the links below.
