CELEBRATIONS
Great things are happening at WCS!
Math team for grades 7 and 8 is up and running. We have a great team this year and spend time each Tuesday working on some challenging math, eating tasty snacks, and playing games. Come try it out!
Upcoming Drill
We will be holding a Lockdown Drill on Friday, 12/15. Similar to Fire Drills, it is our hope that we can better prepare our students to deal with emergency situations. Please feel free to discuss the drill with your student and to reach out to the office with any questions.
Walking the Woolwich Way
Our students have earned so many Woolwich Way tickets for the good behavior and positive attitudes that make our community a great place to be. As a reward our students were treated to hot cocoa and cookies at lunch on Friday. We are so proud of our students. Let's keep this good thing going!

THINGS TO TALK ABOUT
- If you are planning on your student missing 2 or more days of school for a trip or a family visit, please complete a Planned Absence form (CLICK HERE). This form helps teachers plan their classroom activities around who will be present and helps the office excuse your student's absence!
- Snow days and 2-hour delays are communicated to primary and secondary guardians via an automated phone call. This information is also posted on our school and district websites on the morning of the weather event, as well as on the morning news on channels 6, 8, 13, and Bath Community TV. In addition to TV and our website, you can hear school cancellation updates on the radio via WCME 99.5 FM.
- Remember that on days where there is a 2-hour delay for students in grades K-12: there will not be any Pre-K, or AM YCARE. Buses will make their rounds and be at bus stops 2 hours later those mornings, and students should plan on arriving to school between 10:20 - 10:30am.
In accordance with School Board policy, the following promotional announcements have been included at the request of the sponsoring organization because they may be of interest to students and their families. These activities are not sponsored byt the school, and inclusion of these announcements does not constitute endorsement of the organizations or activities by the school.
Midcoast Youth Theater
Midcoast Youth Theater will present the family-friendly musical Newsies January 4-7 at Brunswick High School's Crooker Theater. This show features nearly 100 singers, dancers, and other performers in a popular show that will be a great event for the whole family to enjoy.
More information about Newsies can be found at MYT's website, midcoastyouththeater.com.
For any families who wish to request free tickets to Newsies: MYT and its Ticket Sponsor, Bath Savings, are making free tickets available to each performance for families who otherwise might not be able to attend. To reserve your complimentary tickets, please send an email to tickets@midcoastyouththeater.org and provide your name, the size of your family who will be attending, including the number of children and adults, and the date and time of the show you would like to see. You will receive an email reply to confirm your reservation and with instructions on how to pick up your tickets at the show.
