Millard schools brought fun to this year's TeamUp For TeamMates run on Saturday, August 19th! The money raised benefits the Millard Chapter of the TeamMates Mentoring Program.

The 2023-24 Millard Board Representatives began their year of service at the August 21st Board meeting. From left to right, Tori Karloff represents Millard West High School, Josephine McPhaull represents Millard South High School, and Reema Guda represents Millard North High School. The students will update the Board at each meeting on the events, activities, and celebrations at their schools.

Millard families need to be aware that a new state law adds a graduation requirement beginning with the current junior class. Beginning with the Class of 2025 and beyond, families must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as the FAFSA. High schools will be sharing additional information with families.

To accommodate a change in state law regarding suspension of students in preschool through second grade, the student code of conduct was updated at last night's Board meeting. It is important for all students and families to be familiar with the code of conduct. Click here to read the Student Code of Conduct. The updated sections are in blue.

• Millard North Middle School Vocal Music Teacher Lori Brown was recently named the Nebraska High School Theater Arts Outstanding Educator for Middle School.
• Justin Zeleski, Millard West High School Orchestra Director and Strings Teacher, and Strings Teacher at Rohwer and Black Elk Elementary Schools, has been selected as the 2023 University of Nebraska Kearney Gary Thomas Distinguished Music Alumnus Award recipient.
• Grounds and Maintenance Manager Bill Chizek received the Spirit of Sodexo Award, the company's highest honor. Sodexo partners with Millard to provide food, custodial and maintenance services.
