Advisory First
Parents/Guardians,
Please remember, as you schedule appointments for your student, that we have switched our bell schedule to move advisory to the beginning of the day. On Fridays when we have incentive, we will not be able to easily locate your child after 2:40 pm. Incentive Fridays will not happen each week, but will be posted on the calendar section of our website so you can be aware.
FYI
- Students are allowed inside the building at 7:45 am to wait in the cafeteria where there is supervision. They do not need to stand outside in the cold. All students are allowed to enter the hallway and go to their locker at 8:05 am (8:20 on late start days.)
- For your child's and all students' safety, do not drop off your student in the street, even if the line is backed up. It is safer to drop them off at the curb in the parking lot and then move around.
Attendance
Parents/Guardians,
We have a large number of students with recurring appointments who check out of school. Due to the large volume, it is more difficult to keep track of attendance without a note each visit. Please ask your provider for a school excuse note each time your child visits a dentist, doctor, orthodontist, counselor, etc. so we can be sure to keep accurate attendance records.
We appreciate your assistance.

PTA for your child
8th Grade Celebration and Valentine Rose Sales
We know it is early, but 2nd semester always flies by. We are getting a jump on forming a committee for the 8th grade celebration. This event usually takes place during the last week or two of school. In the past we stayed on campus and brought the party to us, but last year the students were able to go off campus to Urban Air. We need a few dedicated parents to take point on planning this year's celebration and determining location, activities, etc. If you are interested, please email president@lsmspta.org for more details.
The library Valentine fundraiser depends on parent If you would like to help the PTA with their valentine rose sales, please visit this signupgenius link to see dates and times.
Health Office
The health office does not stock Benadryl. If your child needs Benadryl for their allergies, please send the medication to be stored in the health office.

PowerSchool is a great tool for parents to keep track of student grades, attendance, locker and bus assignments, state test scores and more. PowerSchool is also facilitates the connection between parents and school staff. Please make sure your household contact information (email and phone numbers, especially) listed in PowerSchool is always up to date. That will ensure that you receive important communication from the
school and the staff.
This year the medical history and consent forms have been updated in PowerSchool. Please make sure that you update the information and permissions in that online form so your student can receive the appropriate medical attention at school. Students who do not have signed consent in PowerSchool will not receive treatment from the nurse. If you need any assistance accessing PowerSchool, please contact us at 208-350-4060.
Please contact the Registrar, Heather Whitaker, at least one day prior to your student's last day if you will be withdrawing your child. We have a simple form to complete to ensure a smooth transition. Mrs. Whitaker can be reached at 208-350-4060 or whitaker.heather@westada.org
