Dear Alamo Families,
It is great to be back! The staff did a fantastic job keeping the school operating in my absence:
- teamwork prevailed to accommodate two classes due to flooding and to implement a new rainy day lunch schedule,
- Alamo Student Leadership Team launched last month, and
- the Peacemaker Program is underway.
We have so much more to share. Would you please join our Principal Chat next week for an update on the curriculum, construction, and student groups (Student Leadership, Peacemaker, Ecology Club, Garden Club). We will also address any questions you may have. Please complete this form to submit your question(s). Remember to register below under PTA to receive the meeting link.
The Alamo Student Leadership Team (ASLT) is helping PTA raise funds to support our Warm Meal drive for our sister school. They are asking students to donate at least $2. ASLT suggested that students do extra chores to earn $2. Has your child asked you to help around the house? Would you please encourage them?
We received a check for $7,150 from Run For Education. Thank you so much for your participation and generosity. This amount will cover half of the cost for a new voice amplification in each classroom; we've submitted the order.
Hope to see you at our Principal Chat!
Kindly,
Principal Salazar

Square 1 Art: Thank you to everyone who purchased one-of-a-kind items from Square 1 Art - we earned approximately $3,000 from this fundraiser! If you haven’t yet received your shipment, items should be delivered to your home this week. You can order year-round here (orders placed now may not be received by the holidays).
A HUGE shout out to Mrs. Raaum and the Alamo Chorus for being part of the annual Alamo Rotary Tree Lighting Ceremony. What a special holiday tradition for our community. Our chorus program would not be possible without donations from our wonderful families. Thank you!
Retail update: We normally receive $2,000 each year from our retail and restaurant giveback events. This pays for approximately 2 months of our art program, or 1 month for a paraeducator! Every purchase helps us reach our budget goals.
Thank you to all who shopped at Sloat Garden Center! We received $50 from our last giveback week to help improve our school gardens. The next Sloat Growing Up Green Week is January 7-16th.
Thank you to everyone who shopped at our Kendra Scott giveback event! We will report our earnings when they are finalized.
If you haven’t yet purchased holiday cards, don’t forget to use our Minted school code or Shutterfly storefront. View our special holiday giveback flyer for all of the important details!
Sign up for Amazon Smile and designate “Alamo Elementary SRVED Fund'' as your charitable organization. Thank you again for giving back to the Ed Fund during this holiday season.
Amazon wishlists: The teachers are so grateful for the items received from their Amazon Wish List! This list will be available year-round and items are added as needed. If you have not yet done so, please read the instructions here on how to access and purchase items from their list to be sent directly to the school.
Corporate Match: We recently received funds from CSAA, LinkedIn, Red Hat and PG&E-thank you! Please email alamocorporatematching@gmail.com if you have any questions about corporate matching.
Thank you to the Ruffin Family for nominating the Ed Fund for a $500 grant from Boston Scientific! We are so thankful!
Your Ed Fund Dollars at Work! We are busy taking photos of many of our staff members who are supported by your donations to the Ed Fund. Since parent access to campus is still quite limited, many of these individuals’ efforts are not as visible as in the past, but they are working harder than ever! This week we are highlighting Mrs. Yee, one of our two reading instructional assistants.
