Resources are organized by site team, AVID/Excel Elective teachers and resources for everyone.

Professional Learning

AVID WICOR Workshops

Interested in learning more WICOR strategies? Join us for virtual professional learning every last Monday from 4:30-6:00. Some sessions will be offered on district PD days. Complete all 8 and receive a District Trained AVID Educator digital badge. Sign up on Performance Matters.

Don't forget select workshops will be offered during the 50/50 PD days. Check out this flyer for dates and times.

AVID & Packback AI Writing Tool

SAISD AVID is a Pioneer District with Packback, an AI Writing tool embedded into the AVID Elective curriculum. This tool will support scholar inquiry and improve writing. To learn more please attend the training and virtual office hours. Check out this one-pager for more details.

Site Team Resources

Campus AVID Site Team

The Campus AVID Site Team is an integral component of implementation of AVID on the campus. Check out the AVID Site Team Timeline for upcoming Coordinator Meetings, Deadlines and Events.

We also have a new Site Goal Template and CCI Evidence Template. Please open your Campus Site Goal and share with your site team members. All sites should create at least two AVID site goals in support of their campus improvement goals. Secondary campuses, should dedicate one goal to the AVID/Excel elective(s).

Request a MyAVID Account

Please complete the form to request a MyAVID account. The AVID Elective Weeks at a Glance (WAGs) are available on this site. This is a day by day curriculum by grade level. This site also have many downloadable resources and videos on WICOR.

Please feel free to nominate exemplary scholars by the last Wednesday of every month by completing the form. Scholars will receive a certificate and goodie bag.

Have you seen a teacher rocking implementation of their WICOR strategies in their classroom? Nominate a colleague by the last Wednesday of every month. Nominees will receive a certificate and a goodie bag.

AVID Schoolwide Advisory Lessons

These lessons are from the AVID Advisory Lessons website. Integrate AVID strategies into your daily lessons and develop college and career readiness in all scholars. Lessons are for grades 6-12.

We have two district AVID table cloths that can be checked out for campus events. Please complete form.

Utilize AVID Elementary and Secondary Weekly for monthly articles with critical reading lessons. All AVID campuses have a subscription accessible to anyone with a MyAVID account.
