Student Attendance
To avoid absences being marked as unexcused, parents must notify the school that their child is absent. Parents must provide the parent note to the campus within 48 hours of the student’s return to school. If your child is out due to an appointment, please submit a doctor's note to the office, so that coding in eSchool can be updated accurately.
Absences can be reported each time your child is absent by:
- Online Absence Excuse Form
- Absence Line available (24 hours) 281-641-1519
- Excuse note returned with student following absence and given to the front office
- E-mail to our Attendance Specialist at: carolyn.quinn@humbleisd.net
Daily attendance is taken at 9:05AM.
Running Late?
Students arriving after 8:00am should report to the front office prior to going to their classrooms. We ask that students arriving after 8:30 are checked into the front office by a parent/guardian.
Arrival & Dismissal
Our arrival & dismissal continues to get faster each day! Thank you for being patient and following the traffic patterns (good job with eliminating the left turns 😊). Our focus next week is to remember your green dismissal sign, and leave it on display until you have your student with you. Please do not put it away once the number is entered, as other staff loading the cars also need to be able to see student names. For those of you in the back car line, our ultimate goal is to have the line cleared by 3:35-3:40. After that we will take students back inside to the front office for pick up.
Morning Arrival - Just a reminder that school doors open at 7:30am. Please do not drop your students off prior to 7:30am, as we have no supervision on campus during that time and we want to ensure all students are safe. At no time should students be on the playground unattended during our arrival & dismissal times. Thank you for your cooperation!
Running Late? We know things come up, so if you are running late, you can always call the front office to let us know. If you are consistently picking students up after 3:45, please make other arrangements for after school care (YMCA is available) as we do not have staff members available to supervise students once our dismissal has ended. Thank you!
Bike Riders: Due to ongoing HVAC work near the pavilion & map area, we have installed temporary bike racks outside of door 6 near the Plum Valley Playground & Back Parking Lot. Please have students use these bike racks unti further notice. Please be sure to bring a lock for bikes, as this area is not fenced in and is unattended throughout the school day. WHE is not responsible for bikes left unlocked during the day. We appreciate your flexibility!

Paisley Mae - WHE Principal Pup
For those of you new to WHE, Paisley is the "WHE Principal Pup"! She completed her extensive Comfort Dog training last school year, joining George's team to help bring smiles to the faces of our staff and students. Ms. Johnson has shared a list of students who are not to work with George per parent request, and I will assume that those same students should not work with Paisley, as well. In addition, you are welcome to reach out to me directly at cindy.barker@humbleisd.net if you do NOT want your child to work with Paisley this school year. We are looking forward to a wonderful year! Together, we make a team!

Notice - Cell Phones & Smartwatches
We are aware that many of our students use cell phones to keep in contact with families before and after school. Please know that all students are expected to turn their cell phone off and keep them in their backpack during the school day. At no time are WHE students allowed to use their cell phones during the instructional day. Smartwatches are permitted to be worn, but should only be used for the watch function - all texting, calling, notification features, etc should be turned off. If a student is found using a smartwatch or cell phone inappropriately during the school day, it will be collected by the teacher until the end of the day.
