Dear Parents of Sacred Heart School,

Happy Monday on this especially warm March morning!

In regards to the current Coronavirus situation, please note that we as a school continue to receive guidance from the Archdiocese of New York. Any related closings would be made in conjunction with health officials and those at the Archdiocese. As it currently stands, we have been advised to not cancel any meetings, events, or communal gatherings. In our own preventative measures, our school continues to be sanitized each and every day with special attention paid to tables, desks, door knobs, and other items where more than one student may encounter. Additionally, students will be given time each day to wash their hands following lunch and recess. Please note we have purchased an excess of sanitation supplies to last until at least Easter break. As further information from the school or Archdiocese is made available, I will be sure to send to all families.

Congratulations to our 6th grade girls’ basketball team as they won in their recent tournament! I offer my hearty congratulations to all our Pelicans on a fantastic basketball season!

For any business owners in our community, we have a few advertising pages still available in our annual yearbook. Please contact the main office if you would like to purchase. The price of an ad is just $40 for a full page!

Please take note of the following for this week.

All Confirmation candidates are asked to be present for the first Confirmation retreat on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Church of the Sacred Heart.

On Wednesday, we will have our March SHPC meeting at 7:30 p.m. At this meeting, important information regarding the Spring Fling, school play, and remaining school events will be shared. There is no meeting currently scheduled for April.

On Friday, we will have a half day of classes with dismissal at 11:30 a.m.

On Saturday, our school community will march in the White Plains St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

On Sunday, all students receiving First Holy Communion are asked to participate in the creation of the Communion banners with their families. We will begin at 9:45 a.m. in the school gym.

Looking ahead, please note we will not have class on Tuesday, March 17th.
