We are ready for exciting and engaging learning for the 23-24 school year! Welcome home to Rollins Elementary School of Innovation!
Thank you for being our partner in education! I do apologize for the length of this S'more, but we want to ensure you get as much information as you can get ahead of the school year!
Mrs. Farris
School Starts on Monday, August 14th! We open our doors at 7:15 am and students should be in class by 7:45 am!
Name Tags, Backpack Tags, and Walking your Child to Class
Name Tags
At the back-to-school celebration, each teacher gave parents a name tag with their child's name on it. Please have your child wear it on the first day. If you did not attend, look for staff holding class lists. We can assist you.Walking your Child to Class
Parents may walk their child/children to class on the first day.
For safety reasons, we do not have parents walk students to class on a regular basis after the first day. We have extra staff to help the children find their way until they get used to coming in on their own.
Please see our arrival and dismissal procedures/images below.
Backpack Tags We have colored backpack tags we will put on your child's backpack. The tag helps your child know where to go when we dismiss each day. The tags also help our staff get your child to the correct locations at dismissal. (bus, walker, car rider zones)
Car Riders
If you are parked in the outside lane:
All children coming from the outside lane walk down the white line until they reach the crosswalk.
If you are parked on the inside lane:
Your child needs to get out on the sidewalk side.
Please do not send your child in front of your car to the sidewalk.
Put your car tag on your dashboard and remove it before you leave campus.
Dismissal in the afternoon:
We load all students down the middle white line in the order you are in line. If you do not have a car tag, your car will be pulled to the front to wait until a school employee can verify your identity. All staff is on duty at this time, so please remember your tag so you or the person you send does not need to wait until a staff member is free.

School Safety and Police Department Partnership
Our school was built with the newest safety standards required by the state of Arkansas with reinforced steel beams inside the walls to withstand high winds, a fire sprinkler system, a brick barrier across the front, gated playgrounds, and a full-time Tontitown Police Officer on site. Officer Clint Luond is on-site throughout each day. You can reach him at Rollins at 479-750-8721 or you can call 479-361-9188.
Our faculty and staff conduct monthly safety drills using the Catapult App This App also notifies law enforcement. During our fire safety drills, the Tontitown Fire Department is on-site and following our procedures using the Catapult App.

PikmyKid Dismissal Procedures
We will use car tags and the Pikmykid app together. Even if your child rides a bus or is a walker, you will get a car tag to use if you have to come to the school to pick up your child.
- Your child's number stayed the same as last year. We will print new tags for everyone using a new color for this year.

PTA Update
Hello Trailblazer Families!
We hope this message finds you all well and ready for another fantastic year at Rollins! As you know, it takes a village to support our students, staff, and school family and our Trailblazer Village is the best! The PTA supports the school in multiple ways throughout the year through fun events, teacher appreciation efforts, volunteer coordination, fundraising for clubs/new equipment/supplies, and more. WE NEED YOU to join us as we blaze into the '23-'24 school year!
You can support the school in big and small ways:
- Follow us on Facebook and share PTA needs/requests with your friends and family throughout the year
- Volunteer at our special events (opportunities range from decorating, serving snacks, clean-up, manning simple game/activity stations, etc...)
- Spend some time during the school days assisting with simple tasks such as copying, cutting, stapling, laminating, etc...
- Donate items and/or funds throughout the year for teacher appreciation efforts, class celebrations, etc...
- Work with other same-grade-level parents during special occasions to assist with special after school nights, graduations, celebrations, etc...
- Connect the PTA with local businesses who might be interested in becoming a Rollins Community Partner
- Partner with your child's teacher and assist with class celebrations and other small tasks
- Attend PTA meetings in person or via Zoom to have a voice in how funds are spent, future planning, etc...
You can be as involved and informed as you wish and it all starts with purchasing your PTA membership down below!
*Purchasing a PTA membership does not require any commitment to volunteer or be involved. It simply ensures that you receive our communications throughout the year on upcoming events, volunteer needs, fundraisers, and more.
