Berryton Families,
This past week was filled with the following celebrations:
- Sidney Doty, Fifth Grade teacher won the Elementary Horizon Award on behalf of Shawnee Heights. She was awarded this based upon excellence in teaching her very first year in the classroom
- Our teachers spent time watching the film Paper Tigers which explores taking a trauma informed approach to working with students.
- Some of our first and second year teachers attended a training on Animated Alphabet that will help them in delivering quality literacy instruction.
- We finished MAP testing and have began looking at our data to determine how to meet students individual needs.
- PTO met and distributed "ponies" for teachers that are in the main entrance. Students are encouraged to donate money into these ponies as to determine which staff member will Prance with a Pony at the Carnival on October 13.
This Friday is the deadline for having ASQ completed for all of our students in Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten. Office staff will be making phone calls to ensure we have 100% of our students with the ASQ completed per state expectations. Listed below is also information about Parent Teacher Conferences.
