GLOBE International Festival happens this Saturday, September 23!
Dear GLOBE families,
I would like to draw your attention to the following events that are coming up over the next few days, as well as our Upper Campus book fair which starts on Monday.
Hoopbus visits GLOBE
We are very excited for the Hoopbus to visit both campuses tomorrow. All students will get to participate as part of their Connections class. For details and the planned schedule, please refer to the email that was sent out a few days ago. We would like to thank GLOBE Athletic Club for organizing this event which promises to be a lot of fun for our students. They are collecting donations towards new bleachers as part of this event. Look out for them at morning carpool tomorrow.
GLOBE International Festival
Everyone is invited to our largest social event, International Festival, which takes place this Saturday, September 23, from 12pm to 4pm, outside at the park at Lower Campus.
The festival includes two food trucks, performances, cultural education and games. We also have great POTLUCK selections, where attendees to the festival volunteer to bring (nut free) dishes to share from around the globe.
The performances not only reflect varied world cultures, but also include GLOBE students past and present. Wear your ethnic or national dress for the parade, bring blankets and chairs and join in the festivities.
International Fest is also the perfect opportunity to put in some volunteer hours. There are still plenty of opportunities to volunteer, here.
Important: Parking at International Festival
We have permission to park at Echo Ridge Recreation Club during the event, however, they do have limited spaces. We have also been informed of some tree maintenance work that is due to take place on Saturday morning on Heritage Drive (to the right of LC's main entrance), therefore, please use Briarwillow Drive to access the park area, be considerate to our neighbors when parking and avoid blocking driveways or mailboxes.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Executive Director

Campus notes
Compost bins installed in cafeteria
As part of a project to educate students on how to take care of our planet, compost bins have been placed in the UC cafeteria. A group of 7th grade students will be presenting during lunch on why and how to compost. Click on the image to view a list of acceptable items. Thank you for partnering with us.
Important notice for anyone who arrives late to carpool
If you arrive at school and carpool has ended, parents/guardians must visit the front office to sign in their student(s). If they are not signed in by an adult, there is a chance that they will be marked absent for the day due to the front office not receiving notice that they are present.
Lower Campus
Students and staff were busy showing off their best smiles during Picture Day today. We look forward to seeing many of our LC families at International Festival outside at Charles McDaniel Park on Saturday, between 12pm and 4pm.
Connections
LC PE coach Anthony Delevoe has provided this motivational video to get our students pumped for tomorrow's Hoopbus experience. All students will be able to take part during their Connections class and it promises to be a lot of fun!
