Chisago County 4-H Bi-Weekly News!
November 18th, 2022
🦃Happy Thanksgiving!🦃
We've gone from fall to winter in a snap! I'm not sure we were all ready for snow but we do live in Minnesota! I hope you all enjoy the holiday. So thankful for all our families, leaders, and volunteers who make our 4-H program so successful.
Again, there is a lot of news to share so please take time to make it all the way to the bottom of the newsletter. As always please reach out to us if you need help in any way!
Action List:
- Re-enroll! In order to participate in any 4-H activity you should now be enrolled.
- Send a check to the office to pay dues ($25 per youth, $50 per family cap made out to Chisago County 4-H)
- Start planning ideas for projects to take to our fair. It's never too soon to start.
Do you love Minnesota Wildlife and want to learn more?
Chisago Wildlife project area will be exploring woodlands, prairies, and wetlands. Discover mammals, birds, and herptiles and how to create habitats.
We will learn in a peer group on zoom, with show-and-tell meetings plus in-person and independent study.
Youth may learn just for fun or may become a WHEP (Wildlife Habitat Education Program) team member and compete with other Chisago youth.
Contact Sarah Minicucci at ChisagoSSW@gmail.com for more information.

RABBIT & POULTRY PROJECT BOWL
Interested in joining a project bowl team? We are currently putting together teams for rabbits and poultry. In Project Bowl, teams of 3-6 youth build skills by working and thinking together while testing their knowledge. Teams will meet weekly and study hard to learn breed standards, health, nutrition, reproduction, management, market use, and more. Then, we will compete against other teams in a game show like a quiz contest. It is a lot of hard work, and we have a great time doing it! Team coaches this year are Stephanie Lewis and Sheila Hoff. If you want to learn more about the teams, please please contact Stephanie Lewis (see email below) Practices will be Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Lewis at stephklewis@gmail.com. General information about project bowl is here: https://extension.umn.edu/4-h-events/regional-and-state-project-bowls
Coaches will structure the teams and appoint captains based on age, experience, and ability.
