Message from Elizabeth Salcido, Principal
Welcome to our 1,070 New Pirate Families to the 2020-2021 School Year!
On behalf of the Paramount High School West Campus Staff, I hope that you and your family are doing well during these challenging times. I am delighted to be serving as your child’s principal this year. While I’m excited to begin the new school year, I understand that this school year presents unique opportunities and challenges for us all. Our staff is committed to ensuring that all of our new Pirates are provided with a high-quality online education as we continue to implement Distance Learning instruction.
As a reminder, teachers are taking attendance in each of your child’s classes. We are recommending that students keep their cameras on during their live instruction for fuller engagement, better accountability, putting a face to a name, and to increase socialization with peers. Please let teachers know if keeping your camera on is a problem, and your teacher will work with you.
If your child experiences connection issues, please make sure they are reaching out to their teacher through Schoology or email. All students have a Schoology and PUSD email account. We have been reaching out to students who are not regularly attending classes to provide support, answer questions, and let you know we are here for you.
We will be hosting our virtual Back to School Night on Thursday, October 1st beginning at 5:30pm. Teachers will host live presentations through Google Meet or Schoology Conference. For security, you will need to log in to each class presentation using your child’s PUSD account. More information to follow. We look forward to having an amazing virtual turn out!
