Wildcat Family,

The first month of school is here and gone in the blink of an eye! It's been a great start as our students and staff have quickly acclimated to the 19-20 school year and all the new happenings in and around the school! Our Curriculum Night was a great success as an abundance of information was shared to include our daily happenings as well as the plans with our new standards based curriculum that has been rolled out beginning this school year.

With the month of September before us, we are moving and grooving. You should be receiving regular updates from your child's teacher regarding learning opportunities within the classroom, updates on progress via graded assignments, PowerSchool, as well as resources that are accessible both within and outside of school. One of the new specialized products that we purchased this year for each student is Study Island (2nd - 5th) & Exact Path (K-1st). Both online resources build individualized learning paths based on the MAP Assessment and are aligned to Georgia standards. Students can access these resources outside of the school day, your child should have this information and be able to login. If you would like your child's unique login please reach out to their homeroom teacher.

We look forward to partnering with ALL of our families to create the most ideal learning environment for each of our Wildcats! Next week, we look forward to welcoming parents to campus to join your child for lunch or volunteer opportunities at the school.

Executive function is a set of skills that help your child make plans, control behavior, and set goals. Your child’s growing brain, as Harvard University’s Center on the Developing Child describes it, is like a busy airport, and executive function is its air-traffic control system.
