This week students voted on the location for a Little Library that has been gifted to Bertram Elementary from our friends at the Parent Resource Center. Students were able to vote at the end of lunch and our remote learners voted online. Students chose between the front of the Activity Building, the area by the pavillion, or by the gym. We will announce the winning location on Monday!

The BCISD webpage now has a new tab called Parent & Students. There is a new page within that tab there is an option for Student Log Ins and Resources. This page has the sign-in portals for students to quickly find the links they need to log into resources that are important for them.

We will be selling our 2019-2020 Yearbook through the BCISD School Store. Each book is $12. Sales are available now and will continue through September 18th. Yearbooks will be delivered to students attending in-person on Thursday, September 24th.

For students, learning remotely and students who now attend Middle School, we will have an evening pick up from 4pm-6pm on Thursday, September 24th. The person claiming the book will need to show ID that matches the online order in order to claim the book.

• The Parent Resource Center is taking appointments, especially thinking of families of remote learners that want to check out games and resources. Remote Learners can receive meals from BCISD Food Service each Monday from 9:30am-10:30 at the Food Service Warehouse in Burnet.

Your Car Rider Pro tags are good through your child's elementary career. They can even be used at other BCISD campuses if you move. Please do not throw them away. We understand that some families did not know this and discarded them at the end of last year. We will provide replacements through September. If additional tags are needed after that, they will be $2 each. If you need a replacement, please email Ms. Aline at jaheine@burnetcisd.net.

1. Visits to the school are by appointment. We will attempt to address situations by phone or Google Meet. In-person appointments can be scheduled if the situation requires. When visiting campus, please be prepared to show a valid photo ID.

2. If you do visit the school, face coverings are required for all adults at all times. This includes the office foyer area.

3. Due to COVID-19, we will not have any on campus volunteers at this time.

4. We are not accepting deliveries including forgotten lunches (hot meal will be provided by the cafeteria), birthday treats, and food order.

5. If you need to make an occasional change to your child's transportation home, please use the Bertram Transportation Change email: ber-transportation@burnetcisd.net . Transportation changes must be emailed in no later than 1:30pm. Teachers will not be able to accept transportation changes.
   

6. Be familiar with the Arrival & Dismissal Map.

1. Complete AT HOME self screening before getting on the bus or coming to school.
2. Face coverings for all bus riders, and students in grades 1st-5th. Facec overings are strongly encouraged for PreK and Kinder. Remember wearing a face mask reduces your child's chance of having to quarantine for close contact.
3. Bring your backpack including water bottle, snack, and lunchbox (if bringing lunch).

This year in order to keep students healthy and in order to limit their possible exposure to COVID, we will be following the guidelines below when deciding whether a student needs to go to the nurse's office. We will continue to offer a full range of nursing services including dispensing daily medications. Situations such as soiled clothing, papercuts, minor bumps, ect., will be handled in the classroom. Teachers have been trained in the guideline and are knowledgeable about serious conditions that require nursing attention including head injuries and student's Individual Health Plans.

On Monday, we will begin our full remote learning schedule. At Bertram, remote learners will be taught through team teaching. Each classroom teacher in your child's grade level will be presenting specific content each day. Your child will experience teaching from all three teachers each day. Teachers have worked together to plan and deliver lessons that are consistent from room to room so that all students have the same learning opportunities.
