Dear Hill-Roberts Families,

This week it seemed like May showers will bring....May flowers? We were able to get out to recess between raindrops! This week, I'm just going to take a moment to write about MCAS. If your student is taking it now...or in a year or two...it's a thing. It's a great way for the building to get a snapshot of areas for celebration and areas for growth. Grade 3 and 4 families, please try your best to have your student to school on time next week. We have make-up days scheduled, but we find that students prefer taking the test with their classmates. Grade 4 will take Math MCAS on Monday and Tuesday. Grade 3 will take Math MCAS on Wednesday and Thursday.

Grade 4 families, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (DESE) voluntary Views of Climate and Learning (VOCAL) survey is administered after the MCAS in the following grades and content areas: Grade 4 Mathematics, Grade 5 & 8 Science, and Grade 10 Mathematics. It is designed to provide schools with information on student perceptions of three dimensions of school climate (engagement, safety, and environment).

2023-2024 Fee for Service Information:

Dear Hill-Roberts Families,

Students in kindergarten through fourth grade have been working hard to showcase their artwork in the school art show! Each student will have a piece of artwork displayed for classmates and families to view.

The original date of Tuesday, May 16th has now been changed to Thursday, May 18th to accommodate the art show and band concert taking place at Coelho Middle School. The first session of the show will take place at 6 pm for kindergarten and first grade students and families. The second session will take place at 7 pm for second, third, and fourth grade students and families. Families with siblings may choose either time to attend.

Volunteers will be needed to help set up after school around 3:30. If you would like to sign up to volunteer, email Mrs. DeBor using the email in the flyer below.

The book fair will also be open for students and families to browse and make purchases!
