Give Hope Fundraiser:
Here at Beckendorff Junior High, The 8th grade students had a project where they had to research a humanitarian cause and come up with a possible fundraiser to do here at BDJH. In each class period, the teachers chose the best presentation to go into the LGI where they performed in front of all the classes in their period. Then four judges chose a presentation and fundraiser to do at BDJH. The chosen presentation was created by Amanda Galloway and Emma Manuel supporting The Make A Wish Foundation. The Make A Wish Foundation allows children battling life threatening medical conditions to experience their dream life over the course of one day to one week. The things a child may wish for are completely limitless in order to make them happy. We will be selling blue wristbands that say "I give hope" for $5 each. If you buy a wristband and wear it the last week of school (during finals) students are allowed to wear pajamas the ENTIRE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL! We hope you will buy a bracelet to help make kids happy! See attached link for our presentation.

Parent Directions on How to Access 2017 STAAR EOC test results
Parent Directions on How to Access 2017 STAAR EOC test results
TEA has redesigned the process and communication of reporting the student test results for the 2017 STAAR administrations. Starting in 2017, the only way to access your student’s scores for STAAR is through the internet. By Tuesday, June 6, 2017, parents may view the 2017 STAAR EOC test results using either the Home Access Center (HAC) or the online state Student Data Portal. The new STAAR report card, also known as the Confidential Student Report (CSR), will be posted on Monday June 12, 2017 at TexasAssessment.com. If you do not have internet access, please contact your child’s campus for assistance with accessing available report for your child. Contact BDJH at 281-234-8800 if you have any questions.
Step-by-Step Directions on How to Access 2017 STAAR test results
The Home Access Center App does not provide test scores. You must go to the main site.
Step 1: Go to http://www.katyisd.org/parents/Pages/Resources.aspx
Step 2: Scroll to Home Access Center (HAC) and Login In (contact your child’s campus for login questions or if you do not have the HAC Login information).
Step 3: Click the Grades Tab
Step 4: Click Test Scores Tab
Step 5: You may scroll to view your child’s cumulative testing history.
Step 6: The HAC testing information includes the STAAR passing information for each assessment and the Unique Access Code. Under the words Approaches Grade Level (formerly Passed):
“Y” means yes, the student passed the STAAR assessment.
“N” means no, the student did not pass the STAAR assessment.
o If a student was absent or received “other” as a score code, disregard the scale and raw score. The assessment was not scored.
If you would like to view additional details regarding your child’s STAAR progress, you will need to access the “Student Portal” and will need your child’s Unique Access Code.
o The Unique Access Code can be located under the statement “Student Portal Unique Access Code” and contains a combination of 6 letters and numbers.
How to Access 2017 STAAR test results using the student portal:
Step 1: To access your child’s state testing information, you will need the child’s date of birth and the Unique Access.
Code which can be located on any past CSR or following Step 6 listed above.
Step 2: Go to https://txparentportal.emetric.net/login?returnUrl=/list
Step 3: Enter the Unique Access Code and the date of birth to view your child’s STAAR test results
From The Art Club:
"Thank You!" to everyone who supported the Art Club's 1st Annual Empty Bowls project - we collected just over $300 to donate to the local food bank! Thanks also to Morgan Allen and Bill LeCompte for their help, it was greatly appreciated!
From The BDJH 8th Grade Coordinators:
Dear BDJH Admin and Staff,
It's hard to believe that our 8th graders will be moving on in just a few short days, just yesterday they were entering BDJH. Thank you for your time and work these last three years to prepare our students for what's to come. The experiences inside the classrooms, on the stage, on the fields and courts, have been invaluable. You have contributed to each success and have helped them bounce back up when they fell a little short.
We'd also like to thank everyone who attended the 8th Grade Dance on Friday evening, lent a hand of support, and added to the festivities. We want you all to know that we appreciate you being there. It was so awesome to see you celebrate them. We know that you have families of your own and that this time of year is extremely busy so your presence meant a lot.
Best of luck these last few days! 😁😉😊
