Did You Know.....February is CTE Month!
Mini Pom Clinic
The Pom team hosted their mini pom clinic last weekend and approximately 30 little ones showed up to perform their dance at the high school basketball game on Tuesday evening.
The girls did an amazing job and the crowd enjoyed the entertainment.
Thanks Pom girls and coaches!
Freshmen Class
The Akron Class of 2027 and STUCO members had a chance to visit with Arcie Lovato this week. It was great to hear her voice and let her know our students, staff, and community is fighting with her. A huge thanks to our community members, students, and staff that contributed to the fundraiser making over $2,000 and for the gifts to let Arcie know we will always be here for her. We are so blessed to be living in the Akron community with so many caring individuals that place others above themselves. An added thanks to Mrs. Weers, Mrs. Woods, Mr. Schoenecker, and Ms. Hocheder for organizing these events and making us proud to be a RAM!
Building Trades Helps Town
Shout out to the Building Trades students and Mr. Johnson for helping out the town with their remodel project on the old Y-W Electric building. Exciting changes are coming to Main Street!
FFA Week
This week the Akron FFA Chapter celebrated FFA Week. Activities included agricultural trivia, dress up days, a cornhole tournament, chapter FFA meeting, chapter picture, and Ag Appreciation Breakfast. We appreciate everyone who participated in the week's events. Thursday, students in Ag Leadership, Ag I and Ag II classes worked with the elementary students and presented Food For America presentations. The goal of this is to provide information about the importance of agriculture and promote the FFA organization. We have had a great week representing the blue and gold!
Middle School LPAA League Wrestling
Our MS wrestlers traveled to Wray on Monday for the league tournament. The boys all wrestled hard and came home with 3rd place overall with 142 points. Great job wrestlers and coaches!
Vet Science Class
The Vet Science class practiced taking each others vitals. This is a lab within the respiratory and circulatory units.
State Wrestling 2024
Last weekend we had three members of our Ram wrestling team compete at the state tournament at Ball Arena. Tayshaun Thomas and Kaleb Grauer represented our school well, and Merek Charney made it to the championship match placing 2nd.
Congratulations to all the wrestlers and coaches on a successful season.
High School Basketball
The high school girls and boys teams hosted Holyoke last Thursday. The girls won and the boys lost. They now are into post season starting the district tournament on Tuesday.
