Weekly Update ~ January 29, 2018
Elementary Morning Drop Off Procedures
We have noticed an increase in traffic during the morning drop off at the Elementary entrance.
Here are a few reminders to increase efficiency and promote safety:
Parents should not be getting out of their cars while in line to let students out. If you need to get out of the car, please park in a legally marked parking space and walk your child safely to the sidewalk.
If no cars are in front of you, please pull up to the front of the line before stopping to drop off your children.
Don’t let your children out of the car before the marked drop off area.
Have children exit on the right side of the car.
Remember that cell phone use is illegal on school grounds, whether driving or waiting in line.
We appreciate your patience, and thank you in advance for your cooperation.
"Screenagers" Showing for Parents
Dear Parents:
Oak Grove social workers, in conjunction with the other D128 feeder school districts (Hawthorn, Libertyville and St. Joe’s) would like to invite you to a PARENT ONLY viewing of the highly acclaimed documentary film, “Screenagers”. This is a candid film about what it is like to grow up in the digital age. This film is an important piece of work that highlights for parents, the impact of the digital age on children, their developing brain and how we as parents can help minimize harmful effects and find a healthy balance of screen time to non-screen time for our children.

Student Council
Get ready for Valentine's Day! Student Council will begin selling our very popular candy grams with delivery to 5th-8th graders on Monday, February 5th. These sell out fast, so come prepared. Each gram costs $1 and will be delivered to homerooms in time for Valentine's Day. Please remember that we do not deliver to K-4 grades, but you are welcome to buy them for your younger friends and siblings. Simply send them to yourself and pass them out after school! This year, our proceeds will benefit Lurie's Children's Hospital.
