FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
William Tennent High School Commencement 2023
CENTENNIAL HIGHLIGHTS
Beyond the Canvas 2023
Beyond the Canvas program celebrated its fifth year of a collaboration between student artists and teachers from William Tennent High School and staff from Fox Chase Cancer Center. This program was established to help improve the patient experience at Fox Chase through the power of creative expression and storytelling.
Beyond the Canvas has provided a meaningful way to honor the courage, strength, and enduring spirit of patients, healthcare workers, educators, students, and artists. Three William Tennent senior artists were chosen to create this year's work which was revealed on June 6th at Fox Chase. William Tennent's Class of 2023 students, Delaney Lockett, Alexandra Tsishchanka, and Sophia Nabuhotny, beautifully captured the stories of Fox Chase cancer patients and caregivers with their original and empathetic artwork. These works created within the program share stories of hope, family, memories, and perseverance, with each of the pieces finding a permanent home on the Fox Chase campus.
Mr. Tennent 2023
The 21st annual "Mr. Tennent" competition was held on Friday, June 2, 2023, and was coordinated by Mr. Goldsman and the William Tennent High School Student Government. The candidates for the class of 2023 were: Anden Benner, Anthony Buono, Liam Cashman, Chris Cutillo, Sammy Gulotta, Joe Paris, Amari Rouse, Danny Scheller, Keith Thompson, and Max Wrigley. These young men participated in an academic competition, an athletic competition, a talent portion, and an interview. They did a wonderful job on their talents by doing things such as: creating original videos, performing superb group dances, writing and performing an original song, acting out a wrestling match, performing with a jazz band accompanied by an outstanding trumpet solo, playing speed chess, and performing a hilarious synchronized swimming act on stage. We are so proud of all of the candidates for their efforts.

William Tennent Varsity Boys Volleyball State Playoff Recap
The William Tennent, Varsity Boys Volleyball, lost in four close sets to District 3 Champion Cumberland Valley in a PIAA State Tournament Sweet 16 match. Connor Tucholski led the offense with 12 kills, while Sean Stewart and David Dziekonski both contributed nine kills each. The defense was led by Anthony Buono, John Ellis, and Sam Vernick, who all finished with digs in double digits. Additional blocking performances were turned in by Sean Kelly and Eric Korchuk, with three blocks each.
Congratulations to the Seniors (Anthony Buono, Nick Buono, John Ellis, Sean Kelly, Grady Kesyer, Joe Paris, Tamim Quadir, and Connor Tucholski) for all of their hard work and a great playoff run! The boys won the SOL National Conference Championship and finished in 3rd place in District 1 and also qualified for the PIAA State Tournament. The junior varsity team also had a great season and finished with a 17-1 record. Congratulations to the players and coaches on an amazing season!
A Walk to Remember
This year, a new tradition has begun. William Tennent Seniors took "A Walk to Remember" to the schools that helped mold and shape them. In their graduation regalia, the Class of 2023 was bussed first to their elementary school and then to their middle school. Seniors were greeted by district students and teachers with signs and excited cheers. This experience was rewarding threefold: first, for the young children who got to see what they will one day become. Second, for the teachers who helped to mold their young minds. And third, for the seniors, who recalled their wonderful memories and saw all those who made such a difference. When seniors returned to the school, they were greeted by the underclassman who cheered on the soon-to-be alums.
Willow Dale Fifth Grade Promotion
On Thursday, June 7, 2023, Willow Dale Elementary celebrated the promotion of the fifth graders to middle school. We acknowledged the successes of the fifth-grade class, including awards for leadership, academic excellence, and educational improvement. It was a bittersweet day with many smiles and tears. We wish the Fifth Grade Class of 2022-2023 the best of luck at Log College Middle School.
Night of Reflections 2023
On June 6, the Class of 2023 gathered in the auditorium for the 14th Annual Night of Reflections. Throughout the evening, students performed, they gave speeches, faculty gave speeches, and videos were played. This night is always special because it honors the uniqueness of each class and the memories that were created. It was a truly amazing experience to get to say farewell to the Class of 2023.
Willow Dale's Kindergarten Celebration
Willow Dale Elementary Kindergarten students performed a song in sign language during an end of the year celebration for their grown ups. The future is bright!

CENTENNIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT eFOLDER
Each year, more and more people and organizations are turning to our District to help get the message out about various activities, events, fundraisers, etc. The intent of this process is to support student achievement and to provide mutual assistance and benefit through shared information. Our district spends a great deal of time collecting, reviewing, and posting flyers to the District eFolder. The District no longer is posting eFlyers to any social media outlets or the District cable channel. You may refer to Policy 913 for additional information.
