Electronic Recycling fundraiser
Come support the senior class who are holding an electronics recycling drive on Saturday, November 11 from 9am to 1pm. The event will be held in the gravel parking lot behind the Thomas C. Passios building. A list of items accepted and prices to recycle are listed below, with cash and checks accepted.

LHS After School Help
We will begin our Lunenburg High School After School Program for students starting Oct. 11th. The program will provide academic support for high school students and run from 2:30-3:30 on Monday-Thursday each week. This program will be at no cost to families and will be held in the library of the Lunenburg Middle-High School building. A snack and water will be provided to students who attend each day. Please fill out and submit the registration form below if your student will participate in session one of our After School Program.

National Honor Society Tutoring Program
National Honor Society is running a peer tutoring program for this school year. The program will run every Tuesday from 2:30 - 3:30 in the High School project room and students from both the middle and the high school level are welcome to attend.

From the LHS Counseling Office
Congratulations to those Seniors that have submitted College Applications! Next Application deadlines are Wednesday, November 15th and Friday, December 1st.
For those still working on College Applications and post grad career plans, please set up a meeting with your Counselor.
In collaboration with Fitchburg State University (FSU) and Mount Wachusett Community College (MWCC), we will be holding on the spot decision days in the LHS Counseling Office. The FSU Decision Day is scheduled for Wednesday, December 6th and the MWCC Decision Day is scheduled for Wednesday, December 13th. Please stay tuned, additional details to come.

AP Exams Announcement - If you have not already done so, please register for AP Exams by Monday, November 13, 2023. The cost of each AP exam is $102.00. Any exam orders submitted after November 15th will incur a $40 late fee. Lunenburg High School desires that every student be able to take their AP exam(s). Students requiring financial assistance should contact Mr. Ciullo; jciullo@lunenburgschools.net or Mrs. Foster; triciafoster@lunenburgschools.net, in the counseling office. ASVAB Testing and Assessment - LHS will be offering the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) which includes a validated aptitude test and interest assessment. The ASVAB will be held during school hours on November 29, 2023 starting at 8:30am and is approximately 3 hours long. A sign up sheet will be posted in the Counseling Office on Monday, November 13th. All students in 10th grade and above are encouraged to participate. Participation in the ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) is voluntary. The results are used to guide career exploration. Once results are received, a counselor or ASVAB administrator will conduct a post-test interpretation to explain more about what your test results mean. Post-Test Interpretation with students is scheduled for December 21, 2023 at 8:30am and is anticipated to last approximately 1 hour. Upcoming college visits are posted in Naviance. Students must sign up in Naviance. When students sign up, please print or screen shot the confirmation and add the visit to your calendar. Students should notify their Teacher well in advance of the visit. One or two days before the scheduled visit see Mrs. Foster in the School Counseling Office to obtain a Pass. On the day of the visit, please remind your teacher that you are attending a college visit and then show the Pass. Report to the School Counseling Office at the scheduled time and sign-in.
Scholarship Opportunities - To find and apply for scholarships, sign up for Going Merry (https://www.goingmerry.com) -- it’s free! Going Merry has thousands of national, regional, and local scholarships. There are opportunities for every grade level, from freshmen to seniors. Going Merry also has free Parent accounts.
Seniors, please also continuously check the 2024 Guidance Google Classroom for scholarship opportunities and applications. Applications can also be obtained in the Counseling office from Mrs. Foster. Due dates vary by scholarship. It is your responsibility to ensure that a completed application is submitted and/or received on time. Please note, the scholarship opportunities posted in the 2024 Guidance Google Classroom are not exhaustive. Please consider signing up for Going Merry or similar.
College Open Houses - Fall College Open Houses are in full swing. Pre-registration is required for most Open Houses. Please visit college websites for additional information and registration. Air Force ROTC High School Scholarship Program - The Air Force ROTC (AFROTC) High School Scholarship Program Application deadline is December 31, 2023. Please note, SATs are required. AFROTC is a 4-year program that allows college students to commission as officers in the Air Force or Space Force while earning a college degree. AFROTC teaches cadets about leadership theory, physical fitness, drill and ceremonies, and much more. See Mrs. Foster or visit afrotc.com for additional information.
Work Permits - Students age 14 - 17 years old must complete an Employment Permit Application before starting a new job. Once you have completed the Employment Permit Application Form, please bring the completed Form to Mrs. Cooney in the Main Office. An Employment Permit Application can be obtained from the following link: https://www.mass.gov/doc/youth-employment-permit-application/download.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) - The Counselors continued with SEL advisories in classes this week. Each class will have one meeting over the course of Q1.
MWCC Dual Enrollment Information Sessions - MWCC offers dual enrollment information sessions the first Wednesday of each month from 6pm - 7pm.
