Welcome back!
We are extremely excited to be back at Clover Street School! Seeing familiar friends and meeting new ones has been the theme of the week; along with getting back into the swing of being a learner! Thank you for helping make this week a successful one! Your support and encouragement is greatly appreciated! Have a wonderful three day weekend!
With gratitude,
Tricia Lee, Principal
School Hours
Our school hours are 8:40am-3:25pm. This is the time frame in which students are expected to be in class learning. The doors open at 8:30am for students to come in and dismissal starts at 3:25pm.
Drop off and Pick-up
If you choose to drive your child to and from school, please understand our procedures are in place to ensure the safe arrival and dismissal of our students. It is extremely important that you follow staff directions as you navigate the drop off and pick up lanes.
- Our dismissal time is 3:25pm. This means students are in class until 3:25pm.
- Please do not arrive before 3:10pm.
- If you have been given a number, make sure it is displayed on the passenger's side front windshield.
- There are two lanes for families to navigate.
- Remember that students and staff are walking in the circle.
- Please be mindful of your speed.
- Please do not walk up to the gym door to pick up your child.
Students who walk to and from school enter school through the cafeteria at arrival. For dismissal, walkers leave through the yellow gate on Clover Street.
If there is a change in your child's regularly scheduled dismissal process, please contact the office or your child's teacher by 2:30pm.
We understand emergencies happen. However, if you know your child's dismissal plans will change for the day, please let us know as soon as possible.

Something new this year!
To help our learners build their vocabulary skills, we've implemented "word of the week". Having and using a robust vocabulary helps learners develop their comprehension skills and supports writing. The word of the week is introduced during our morning broadcast, and each day students learn something new about that word, like what it means, how to spell it, and what part of speech the word is. When a student is caught using the word correctly in a conversation, they earn a book vending machine token!
Help us build our learners' vocabulary skills by asking them what the word of the week is and encouraging them to use it in conversations and in writing!
This week's word was: envision. Please check out the picture and videos below of a few of our excited learners choosing their books. We envision more students using the word of the week as the year goes on!
The bus is an extension of the classroom and school building, and learners are expected to continue to demonstrate Citizenship, Acceptance, Respect, Excellence, and Self-Responsibility while riding the bus. This expected behavior includes:
-remaining seated once on the bus
-using appropriate language
-keeping hands and feet to self
-refraining from throwing objects on the bus
-refraining from using electronic devices to record or take pictures on the bus
While this is not an exhaustive list, these are some of the behaviors that have been reported during the first week of school. All of these behaviors and other inappropriate behaviors present a safety issue and most be investigated. Moving forward, when a student is written up for inappropriate bus behavior, families will be asked to transport their learner to or from school for one day, depending on when the incident occurs. In some cases, this could mean picking your child up from school as the incident occurred on the way to school. Families will need to meet with me or Mr. Spector when they pick up or drop off their child to discuss the incident and plan next steps for transportation. Next steps could be and are not limited to assigned seating, and bus suspension for a period of time.
Our learners should have a safe, enjoyable bus ride to school. We will continue to remind learners of these expectations and consequences, and ask that you do the same. Please reach out to me if you have questions.
To report your child absent, please click on the words "attendance matters" above to be redirected to the district attedance QR Code for absence reporting
