Costa Rica 2017

God provided a unique opportunity for the youth ministry at CBC this Spring Break of 2017. From March 12-18, I will be in Costa Rica on a mission trip with CBC youth. The purpose of this mission trip is to build partnerships with the global church, meet the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ, and develop deeper community within our CBC family. As followers of Christ we are a part of a bigger church than just CBC. We therefore have an opportunity to not only minister to people who don’t know Jesus, but to connect with and develop leaders of the church in Costa Rica. While doing this, we will also be filling needs that they have specifically requested. Our hope is that we as CBC are also able to grow in community as we serve and live life together outside our normal routines.

Our trip will include partnering with local high schools for some minor repairs, building a greenhouse, and constructing sporting arenas for the students. In addition, our hope is to meet and develop relationships with those whom the local churches have already established. Lastly, we will have opportunities to train and develop local youth leaders and pastors for the work of the ministry.

I am excited about the opportunity to serve and to minister, and I ask that you join our team. I am seeking your support and prayers for this mission trip on behalf of the Costa Rica 2017 team. Instead of individually fundraising for this trip, we wanted to do this together for greater accountability and cooperation. As a team of 32, our goal is to raise $52,000 by March.
