Note from the Principal

Good morning!

Thank you for a wonderful Catholic Schools Week. We had a great time celebrating with dress down days, visits from the Sisters, Servants of Our Lord and the Virgin of Matara, a wonderful Vocations Mass celebrated by Fr. LaHood, Family Virtual BINGO hosted by the HSA, Mass at the Parish, and finally, our Community Rosary. There is more snow in the forecast this week! Just as a reminder, any additional snow days will be remote learning days for all students with a normal class schedule. Two hour delays will have classes that begin at 10:30 a.m.

Book Pick-Up/Drop-Off

Student Spotlight- LJ Watkins

We love sharing the wonderful things are students are doing! If you have a contribution to the Student Spotlight Section, please let us know!

Today's spotlight is Lanier (LJ) Watkins in 4th Grade. LJ and his sisters worked as interns this summer with their father, Dr. Lanier Watkins, and completed a study entitled Investigating the SARS-COV2 Main Protease Structure for Drug Design Target Sites Using the Modified Minimal Molecular Surface. They will be presenting their work at the

IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI'20) which will be held in Iowa City this April. Great job, LJ!!!

Virtual Coffee Chats

Based on feedback from parents and recent attendance, Friday morning coffee chats will be reduced to once per month and will include all grades. Please join Mrs. Lewis on Friday February 12th at 8:30am to provide feedback, ask questions, and just say hello! A reminder email will be sent that morning.

The Passing of Sister M. Alexius Fitzgerald

It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the passing of Sister M. Alexius Fitzgerald, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Sister passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton. She was a teacher at St. Mary of the Assumption School from 1959-1972. Please join with me as we pray in thanksgiving for Sister's service to God's people.
